This really simple product does a lot to control and shape your Tom tone. For me, it took out a lot of the sustain and made my Tom punchier. Not necicerily a good thing or bad thing, but it it gives me options, even to throw the thing off mid song! I'm currently using this with a Remo ambassador, tuned low and it sounds great.
Well made, fits well to the drum. My only criticism would be I would like the ring to be more visible so you know in an instant where you've put the thing, if you've been juggling kit pieces around. Obviously the Evans logo does help, but being a clear piece of plastic it does self camouflage fairly well.
Best of all it's cheap as chips! Well worth a go.
(I bought a Melenium fusion pack for the sizes and then this as a seperate for my two down, one up Tom positioning, so a mix and match worked well)
