Is this kind of reed going to take over? It might just do.
Initially I was weary of the strength. I was afraid to buy in case it would be wrong or stiff and they are not cheap.
It turns out the chart for checking out the thickness of the reed is exactly right! Presuming you have experience with the main brands of reed, just check out where you stand and get that thickness.
On playing, it responded immediately. Sounds right on my Dukoff L8. Clear, smooth. responsive in all registers. As if it were how a regular sax should sound.
It doesn't get very loud though.
But it tunes perfectly.
I can bend and growl and throw everything at it and it still stays open.
Wow, it might just have to stay on there for ever. I'll get back the next time I buy stuff on Thomann and tell you how long the reed lasts.

A great reed for me, not as good as a good real reed but so consistent a bright sound with a lot of resonance & power. No wetting or blowing in I use a 3.5 on a theo wanne durga 8 for rock & roll & this reed does the job every weekend. A great spare even if you still want to use wood.

I've been looking for a suitable reed for a long time. I didn't like switching to plastic. Colleagues suggested Fibrocell ,,, buying reeds and playing, I was delighted...ALL fibracell is a good quality reed. I tried 3: 3,5: and 4: everything is fine, 4 and 3,5 are a bit heavy for me, but after playing like all canes, they are beaten and feel even better...The upper register sounds bright, the middle and bottom are rich and beautiful... I use reeds for about a year, I play in restaurants, on anniversaries and corporate parties. In the future I will buy only this reed.. Thanks to Fibracell))))
