Fun Generation Stagemix 400
Poppet, 19.04.2021
This PA system had all that I needed, light, good 10''speakers and enough mixer functions for my own needs.

However on my first and subsequent testing I kept getting distortion on all channels even when the Limit green indicator was at 2!! I tried other keyboards but the distortion persisted.

The speakers did their job well. Clear and good bass sound

So this was very disappointing because I really liked the new mixer but it was either defective (despite passing quality control) or the system did not produce the power advertised. I would really like to know.

Die Keller-Karaokesession ist gerettet! The party-room Karaoke session is safe!
Majiken, 27.03.2021

(English)
All in all, this is a compact, light system that I perceive as a great choice for a Karaoke session in the basement party room, or a first PA for the youth of today to cut their teeth on. The build quality fits the price: a lot of plastic, not especially pretty but solidly built. Let’s take a look at the power mixer section:

- Quite well equipped input-wise, with 4 mono mic/line and 2 stereo inputs, plus Bluetooth for streaming and an MP3 player. The output is stereo, whereby the mono channels are always centered (certainly acceptable in this price range). The built-in effect is a delay with fixed parameters, adjustable in intensity per channel. Nothing exciting, but usable in reasonable doses. The line input worked okay with an acoustic steelstring with built-in preamp
- The system comes with a handheld mic, which worked surprisingly well. Hand noises, often a problem with low-budget mics, were at the same level as a Shure SM58 I also connected. . There is no phantom power, also no separate gain control; I had to turn the channel volume close to maximum, but fortunately there was no dramatic noise increase, so no problem there.
- Bluetooth coupling and streaming worked without a hitch, the USB knob controls the volume. Be careful to turn it down when disconnecting Bluetooth, otherwise you might be surprised by a short, very loud goodbye melody. I was too lazy to copy MP3s to a stick to test the USB-player….
- The monitor outputs send the master, post-fader stereo audio line signal (the manual available in March 2021 is wrong when it says they are for passive speakers). The sound into good active speakers from that output can be much better than what comes out of the included passive speakers, which to my ears can be quite shrill- for example, mic sounded best to my ears with the channel treble turned almost all the way down. The system isn’t all that loud; the 96dB maximum output is realistic. It must be noted that there is a slight noise, like a buzz or a vibration, in the background that may or may not be bothersome. Weighing the sensational price-to-feature ratio, I would view the buzz as “within spec.”
- The speakers have a 35mm flange on the bottom, giving a very tight fit on the stands. The plastic is soft, however, and I think after a few mounts it should work more smoothly. Even after that the speakers wont wriggle around on the stands, since there is a fastening screw included. I personally would have preferred for the speaker cables to be gray instead of black to minimize the risk of mistaking them for standard audio cables- I’d label them just to be safe. Bottom line for me: not a setup for stage use, but well-suited for a party basement or bedroom use for those on a tight budget.

- erster Eindruck.....
Franken-Pedro, 22.03.2021
