Mein Duopartner konnte lautstärketechnisch mit seiner Mandoline nicht mit meiner Fiddle mithalten.
Der Dämpfer gibt ihm besser Chancen.
Die Dämpfung ist hörbar, aber nicht sehr ausgeprägt und vor allem nicht frequenzneutral. Letzteres tut meiner Geige und insbesondere meinen Ohren aber gut: Es nimmt dem Klang die Schärfe, es klingt jetzt seidener.
Obwohl der Dämpfer nur auf D und A Saite gespannt und dann auf Steg geschoben wird, werden alle Saiten ähnlich stark gedämpft. Den zusätzlichen Magnethalter zur Aufbewahrung an der Geige bei Nichtbenutzung halte ich für überflüssig - der Geigenkoffer hat ja massenhaft Platz dafür.

Fazit:
Däpfungseffekt ist da, für den Probenden angenehm; der Nachbar wird allerdings kaum weniger gestört werden.
