...um es kurz zu machen: für mich auf jeden Fall. Es ist doch immer dasselbe, bei Custom-Shop Instrumenten hört jede Vernunft auf und es obsiegt das Gefühl ein wirklich aussergewöhnliches Instrument zu besitzen. Kann man AC/DC auch mit einer herkömmlichen US Standard SG raus hauen? Na klar doch, aber es sind halt die letzten 5-10% die den Unterschied machen. Trocken gespielt ist ein perliges Sizzeln mit dabei, das wahrscheinlich dem Vibrola zu verdanken ist. Damit kommt ein Oberton mit ins Spiel, der aussergewöhnlich ist. Wem es zu viel ist, der kann es locker mit dem Tone-poti reduzieren. Aber wenn es halt fehlt, ist es schwer auf andere Art zu bekommen. Um es klar zu sagen, die Gitarre ist sauteuer. Im Gegensatz zu einer Les Paul ist ja nicht viel an dem Paddel dran. Den extra Tausender für die Murphy Lab Geschichte muss man wollen, aber ich glaube ohne die, wäre es nicht dasselbe. Mein Fazit: rockig, definiert, nie zu fett wie manche Paula, obertonreich mit einem wunderbaren Hang zu beherrschbaren Rückkopplung durch die Pick-ups. Eine Klasse für sich.

Die QC bei Gibson ist auch bei CS Gitarren nicht immer top notch. Es Ist nicht meine erste Custom Shop Gitarre, auch nicht die erste Murphy Lab, aber hier war die Verarbeitung absolut zufriedenstellend. Thomann hat mir vorab Fotos geschickt, und war auch wie gewohnt hilfreich bei der Bestellung. Die Beurteilung des Sounds ist bekanntlich sehr subjektiv, aber ich bin total begeistert. Infos dazu gibt es zu genüge auf Youtube. Auch die bekannte Kopflastigkeit bei SG´s wird durch das Tremolo super kompensiert und ist stimmstabil! Die Gitarre macht Spass und erfüllt somit meine Erwartung.
