These are complete and utter SHIT,the windings on the A string were faulty from the start Thomann say no warranty,they sound lifeless and basically you had just aswell spend 20 quid on weedwackers,dont waste your money,i took off innovation gold and they are far better,after 3 days of playing they still wont hold concert pitch,shit,shit shit

Top snaren om mee te slappen

Super fijne snaren om mee te slappen. Geven een old school contrabas geluid, met veel 'hout klank'. De snaren zijn vrij dik en benaderen het gevoel en geluid van darm snaren.
Zijn erg fijn voor de vingers, je snijd jezelf er minder snel mee. Snarenspanning is lager dan bijv. staal, maakt het makkelijker om te plukken. Hebben weinig sustain, wat niet erg is, als je slapt.
Je kunt er op strijken, dat geeft een warm hees / rokerig geluid.

Tip, laat de bas even acclimatiseren voor je gaat optreden. Door het warmte verschil (lampen op het podium), raakt de bas vaak wat ontstemt. Eenmaal op temperatuur heb je hier geen last meer van.

Super fijne snaren, ik heb gelijk nog een set als reserve gekocht.

Für meinen neuen Bass (ein alter Framus) habe ich lange überlegt welche Saiten hier zum Einsatz kommen sollen. Darmsaiten wären mein Favorit gewesen, durch häufigen Transport und viele Temperaturunterschiede mag ich aber die Nachteile (Reißen, Stimmstabilität, Pflege, ...) von Darmsaiten nicht sonderlich...aber wollte eben den Sound. Die Hepcats sind eine tolle Alternative!

Ich spiele bereits seit einigen Jahren die Didi Beck Edition der Gut-a-likes. Die E-Saite habe ich als umsponnene Variante da das Original für meinen Geschmack vieeel zu wenig Spannung und damit Punch hat. Ich war mit den Saiten auch recht zufrieden in Sachen Sound und Handling. Der Slapsound hat mich jedoch nicht wirklich überzeugt und an echte Darmsaiten erinnert. Die kupferumsponnene E-Saite hat mich dabei am wenigsten überzeugt da sie nicht ganz homogen zu den restlichen Saiten klingt. Trotzdem sind es wirklich gute Saiten, nur die Hepcats gefallen mir um einiges besser wenn man dann den Vergleich hat...

Ich war also gespannt was die "neuen" Hepcats zu bieten haben und siehe da: Der Slapsound ist in der Tat wesentlich besser. Auch das Handling und die Saitenspannung finde ich TOP! Super griffig wie ungeschliffene Darmsaiten, perfekte Spannung und einfach ein toller Sound. Das die E- und A-Saite nicht mehr mit Kupfer umsponnen sind scheint also definitiv eine super Entwicklung nach Vorne.

Einzig an die E-Saite muss man sich etwas gewöhnen. Die hat schon nen ordentlichen Querschnitt...dafür ist die G-Saite sehr dünn. Beim spielen fällt das aber alles weniger ins Gewicht als gedacht und die Saiten klingen wirklich sehr gut!

Ich kann die Schnüre also nur wärmstens empfehlen wenn jemand eine gute Alternative zu Darmsaiten sucht. Klasse Sound und extrem gut spielbar!

ich benutze die Saiten an zwei verschiedenen Bässen. Einmal mit dem Shadow Rockabilly und einmal mit dem K&K Tonabnehmer. Beide male klingen die Saiten ausgewogen und lassen sich gut slappen. Die Swingmaster waren mir zu hart und die Black zu weich.
