Amazing once set up

This guitar was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for simplicity with quality and that's exactly what this is. The Tesla Plasma-X1b Alnico V Humbucker is super hot and heavy with great output for everything from rock to thrash metal. The Radiant red finish is absolute eye candy but it's honestly the hardware and quality of build that sets this apart from other guitars for its amazing value. A Floyd Rose 1000, Caramalised Maple neck, barrel type input jack AND a double action truss rod adjustment with the spoke wheel! You would pay twice this price for any other major brand and I doubt the quality would be anywhere near as good.

The only thing missing is locking tuners for this to be a 5/5 on features.

My only issue was that the guitar arrived with all four springs attached on the floyd rose which was putting too much tension on the neck. This was all fixed once I did a quick setup, restring and changed the springs to my preference.

Still a 5 star guitar and I am utterly blown away by Harley Benton's quality and range. This is my second Harley Benton guitar now and I recently sold two of my top range $2000 guitars so I could buy more Harley Benton guitars.

I purchased the ST-80FR MN in Radiant Red in June of 2025. The quality of the instrument is very good with my only complaint being the stainless frets coming in very scratchy, which surprised me. The roasted maple neck is a standout feature and the tesla pickup sounds great! The idiotic import tariffs added quite a bit to the cost (the orange buffoon's fault, not Thomann's), but if you can avoid them it's a must buy imo.

Kompromisslose Heavy Strat im Eighties-Style

Als ich die Gitarre auf der Guitar Summit im vergangenen Jahr sah, ging es mir ähnlich wie mit der ST Modern Plus - "haben wollen" oder neudeutsch "G.A.S.". Viele der Features der ST Modern Plus finden sich auch hier: Edelstahlbünde, Compound-Radius, geflammter Hals. Dennoch ist sie haptisch wie klanglich eine ganz andere Gitarre: Der Humbucker ist wesentlich heißer, das Floyd-Rose natürlich im Handling komplett anders. Was mich wundert: Der Hals spielt sich merklich besser/schneller als der der ST Modern Plus, er lädt geradezu zu Shredding-Eskapaden ein.
Zum Sound lässt sich nicht allzu viel sagen: Das ist halt ein One-Trick-Pony, niemand wird auf einer solchen Gitarre Jazz- oder baladeske John-Mayer-In-between-Sounds erwarten. Die Gitarre ist für einen Sound gemacht, und den macht sie gut.
Zur Einstellung: Die Gitarre kam spielbar an, aber die Saitenlage und die Halskrümmung ließen sich noch merklich besser einstellen - aber das ist ja auch Geschmackssache, jeder mag es individuell anders.
Fazit: Viel Gitarre für wenig Geld, das macht (mir) Spaß :)! Kaufempfehlung.

Hervorragende und sehr saubere verarbeitung
Gitarre ist sehr leicht
Amtlicher sound
Die saiten haben mich positiv überrascht
Die grundeinstellung der gitarre was sehr sehr gut
Der hals spielt sich hervorragend und liegt super in der hand und sieht unglaublich schön aus

CONTRA :
Im zwölften bund gab es ein winziges problem mit einem bundstäbchen was aber mit der diamantfeile in einer minute behoben war.
Das beiliegende kabel ist von durchschnittlicher qualität. Wenn ihr die gitarre kauft bestellt euch unbedingt ein hochwertiges "winkelklinke monokabel" mit falls ihr keins habt dann bekommt ihr auch den klang den ihr euch vorstellt. Stereokabel funktioniert nicht weil es dann brummt wie sau, besonders beim berühren von metallteilen oder den saiten. Mit monokabel herrscht himmlische ruhe
.
FAZIT :
Die axt sieht nicht nur spektakulär aus, sie klingt und spielt sich auch so und der preis ist unschlagba
