Everything I expected it to be
Nik Sokolsky 14.03.2025
It looks great, feels great, it's a solid instrument for a very accessible price, as it promises to be

Tuners don't feel as smooth as I would like them to be (comparing to gotoh LP type tuners). But it doesn't mean they're not smooth or feel cheap, it's still a quality tuners.

A few people are saying that they're having troubles palmmuting the babics bridge, didn't notice any issues with that, just a matter of habit and technique.

10/10, fully and absolutely satisfied

Harley Benton ST-Modern - Frets Issue
proslash 05.04.2025
General Features / Micro / design amazing !
The big problem is the frets which are not polished at all and control the height of frets.... again I spent 2 hours to polish and fix it.
I bought 3 harley benton guitars it is always the same issue - FRETS.
I asked Thomann to put option : polish guitar before sending the guitar.
Please add option next time - you cannot keep selling this kind of guitar - frets are the most important thing.

Beautiful feature rich guitar

Came in already nicely setup and with perfect intonation so just basic tuning necessary to start playing.

Frets are also taken cared of properly, instead of sharp edges fret end are nicely rounded. There is some rocking on some frets so that might need some attention but nothing to serious. Relatively low action can be achieved with a bit of setting neck relief and trem bridge string heights.

Trem is very nice, and is a pleasure to use as there is no tuning issues after a week of playing and whamy use.

String trees selection is also good on this guitar as rollers are used so no issues there. String tree on D and G seems redundant but has no negative impact so it's fine.

Locking tuners are also nice addition to this guitar as provides much simpler and quicker way to replace strings.

Looks and feel of guitar in general is top notch, nothing to complain for this gorgeous guitar. Sits and feels nicely in both lap and strap, nicely balanced weight and a neck is smooth and comfortable to use. I have middle sized hands just for the reference.

Pickups and electronics are doing their job as expected. I don't have experience with many guitar but there is a clear difference with some other cheap guitars I had experience with. Knobs are smooth to rotate, there is no any crackling sound while using them. Tone and volume provide nice sound feedback. Pickup selector feels nice, stable and click gently into any state. Each selection provides a good distinction in sound even for unexperienced user like me. HSS combination provides really rounded versatility which is important to me to explore different sound with signle guitar.

Lastly finish on guitar is without any imperfections in both color, coating and surface.

In general really happy with my selections, hope any of above information is helpful to others. Cheers!

Superb guitar

Looks great. Lovely flame on the roasted maple neck. The bridge is fantastic and combined with the locking tuners it holds tuning very well. Nicely rounded fret ends and slightly rolled fingerboard edges make it comfortable to play and the shaping around the neck pocket allows easy access to the upper frets.
The stainless steel frets needed a polish and the action was too high for me but this was easily sorted out. I changed the strings to 9-42 guage Ernie Balls. Not sure why they waste money putting Elixir coated strings on? Unless you play 10’s they’ll just go in the bin. The included lead is another waste of money. It’s terrible quality and is also now in the bin. I’d rather have own brand strings and no lead but knock €10 off the price.
Sound wise I’m quite impressed. All positions are useable and I like the neck pickup and the bridge humbucker. Not a fan of the bridge pickup when the coil tap is engaged. Speaking of which, the push/pull tone knob is not very user friendly. Use a push/push or put knobs on that you can get hold of more easily. Again, this could be a better option than the crappy lead and expensive strings.
Overall, I’m impressed. It looks and sounds great. I’d be happy to gig and record with it. The feature set for the money is outstanding. It easily equals my Fender Pro II Strat in terms of quality and has a better bridge and locking tuners. The Strat does have nicer sounding pickups but that’s a personal taste thing and they could be easily changed if you wanted to. I believe the body is routed for HSH if you wanted that but have not checked. And of course the Strat was 5x the price!
I would recommend this guitar to beginners and experienced players alike. It will cover a huge range of styles for a very reasonable price. Another winner from Harley Benton.
