J
Nice sound, great module
Joesh 05.11.2021
This is a wonderful sounding module, with some great possibilities. Strange there's no CV for the Coarse control, but I guess the idea is to change the sound via the FM CV input - which makes sense if you're wanting to use this for a VCO.

For the rest, I can thoroughly recommend everything else. Great build, easy to use, plenty of filter options, LFO or VCO modes are very nice, and fantastic sound (albeit the above problem).

Very versatile filter / sine oscillator
xavierxeon 02.05.2021
Like most Joranalogue modules, this filter does more than just being a filter. Of course it can self-oscillate, and it can do several filter types at once.

But It can through-zero modulate both exponential and linear FM, as well as the resonance. And that at audio and sub-audio rate. So, if you want to filter your complex LFO, you can.

In self-oscillation it offers 8 phase-shifted sine waves, which can of course be frequency modulated and track pitch well.

Built quality is excellent.

PK
Very Nice Filter, Low Noise Floor
Precision Kicker 20.03.2024
After a lot of research decided for the Joranalogue Filter 8 and do not regret it. It's really very nice sounding. Will distort some when driven hard.
Very strong results with a low noise floor and superb resonance.
Really controllable too where it counts the most, with pots going through zero. Solid build too

JV
Unique subsonic filtering capabilities
Jean-Claude Van Damme 21.03.2026
This is the only filter that allows you to process subsonic signals, aka modulations. Plug in a random or complex LFO form in there and shape it via the filter's different modes, and resonance !

I know this module has other great features, but this one alone makes it worth its buck for me. I know it's also a regular multimode filter for audio signals, but I haven't even tried that yet because I'm having too much fun creating new modulations forms. (so I put 5 stars for sound because Thomann wouldn't let me leave that blank, but honestly I have no idea how it sounds)

As usual there's their trademark maximalist engineer's approach of let's put every feature we can think of in this module. That includes bipolarly attenuated voltage modulation of every parameter, two signal inputs, three frequency modulation inputs, etc.
