I
Accessible delay pedal for an accessible price!
Izmotion 26.01.2021
I've been using this pedal with my keyboard & synths for a while now. I've connected it as a send to my Yamaha MT3X tape recorder, and it works great for this purpose.

First, the delays:
You get a pretty good selection of delays. If you're looking for any specific one, you might find the quality/controls of each delay type somewhat lacking, but that's not this pedal's forte. Each type sounds good and they work pretty well with the instruments/patches I used!
The downside is, as mentioned, the lack of control on each. You get the standard feedback, delay time and level, and that's your lot. If that's enough for you, perfect!

Second, the looper:
There's no way of syncing this thing to anything. You can hope that you get the loop perfectly right with whatever you're playing, but it's definitely a bit more experimental/finicky in that regard.
That being said, I feel like this is the best part of the pedal. The fact that the looper does work WITH any delay (needs some hand-fiddling, but eh) makes this a pretty amazing pedal. It's the main reason I use it with my keyboard: layer a bunch of instruments, and boom!

I bought this after seeing a few reviews on YouTube as my first standalone delay pedal. I wanted to move away from my multi-effects unit as I'm getting frustrated with having to dig through all the menus to find the settings that are right for me.

I'm not going to go into all the individual sounds on this pedal as no-one ever plays with just one effect do they? It has loads of different types of delay with easily adjustable parameters easily at hand. No digging through menu settings to change the sound I want. I like that you can dial in the exact delay time you need for your track without having to train your feet to the inexact science of tempo tap (I can never get it exactly right).

The unit feels solid enough, it doesn't have the tank-like feel of a Boss pedal but I'm not going to be taking it to a warzone any time soon. I like the LED strip on the end too, it's a nice touch. I've bought this, the Atmosphere reverb and the mini Molo-Trem at the same time and I can't say I'm disappointed with any of them. I would certainly consider buying a Joyo pedal again and will keep an eye out for new releases.

Works great!
inquisitor101 28.09.2020
Been using this pedal for about a few months now. I can attest to how easy it is to use and flexible at the same time. Tone is great too, but not so much when looping. It definitely feels sturdy and not cheap, although I would've preferred less plastic-feeling knobs. The features are more than enough. Do take a look at the Galaxy feature. Sounds amazing. Oh, and the looper does the job kind of okay. Don't expect you'll end up bypassing a fully-fledged looper anytime soon with this one.

DM
Unbeatable delay at this price point, and great in it's own right
Dan Monaghan 12.01.2021
The R series really are amazing for the price and the Aquarius is no exception. A ton of different delay options which all sound great, including a few unique to the Aquarius (like the Galaxy option, which is sort of a spacey reverb), and a built-in looper to built. Looks great, easy to use and understand, and does everything you'd want out of a delay pedal, plus it's also got tap tempo AND a super long delay time (about 3 and a half seconds) to cover the whole spectrum.

The only drawbacks are the general build and feel of the pedal. You can tell it's been made cheaply. The switch on the bottom to toggle the LEDs is placed really badly and is very difficult to switch (I had to use a pen lid). The other thing is the knobs, which do feel a little cheap and plastic-y (although they're not nearly as bad as I've seen some people say, they still have a lot of grip to them).

All in all, a really impressive pedal for such a good price. If you're after a first delay pedal to work out what you like, this is the best.
