Very Satisfied

This snare was an upgrade to my old Millenium snare and boy was it much better. It has a thick coated head designed for hard hitters and when tuned right is capable of crisp, dry and yet a fat sounding sound. It also has 10 lugs compared to my previous 6. One difference from other snares is this tends to be slightly taller in height and if your throne and snare holder is already at max this may be a problem. Overall at this price an excellent snare for budget and advance drummers alike.

Worth the price, decent with new heads

For the price you get a decently made snare which sounds pretty much as you'd expect a thin metal snare to sound. You either need that sound in your arsenal or you don't.

With upgraded heads, correct dampening, tuning and technique to taste you'll get a decent sound out of it if that is your thing.

It is pretty much like every 'free' snare that comes with a starter kit, but I've found the millennium range to strike a decent balance in regards to value for money as for what you pay, there seems to be very little drawback if you need a 6.5" steel snare except it is unlikely to hold any second hand value.

Thin rolled steel, folded seams, bearing edges fine, straight sides, no middle ring, decent rims, rattle, throw, tuning rods and retainers. I'm guessing you aren't buying this snare because you wanted a collectors item though, very much is what it is.

No QC issues for me. Happy.

Bought it for a drummer friend as he needed a cheap snare to practice. well, if you have the right amount of skills, its an awesome snare drum. and you wont be very sorry of you forget it somewhere by accident as its not an expensive one.
in my opinion, its good for everything starting jazz, till metal.
built quality is not excellent but its much better that a lot of more expensive items here.
use with confidence

It's a good metal snare that you can wind up tight and get a real nice crack from. I swithcit with my wooden shell snare dependant on what I'm playing; up-graded skins are a big help on sound performance.
