Features which leave nothing to be desired

The Millenium MPS-150X is an attractively priced e-drum set that includes everything that the "big ones" have: A stable, flexibly adjustable aluminium rack, five drum pads with low-noise and comfortably playable mesh heads, three cymbal pads, many play-along songs, various preset drum kits, and even the ability to programme and save your own kits. The bass drum pad can be played with a conventional bass drum pedal (included in the scope of delivery). Of course, the obligatory USB port for connecting to a computer as well as an audio input for external sound sources are also on board.

Convincing inner values

The MPS-150X has a lot of different sound options and, with 108 voices that can also be spiced up with some reverb, covers a wide range of drum and percussion sounds. The 40 play-along songs, which vary in tempo and cover all popular genres, are just as widely varied. In terms of operation, the kit is practically self-explanatory, so the instructions can safely stay in the drawer. Some other particular highlights are the low-noise mesh heads and the fact that the cymbal pads also feature a stop function (choke).

When practising turns to fun

Thanks to the kit’s easy-to-understand structure and “plug & play” design, the MPS-150X is particularly suitable for beginners who appreciate good-quality sounds and who want to practise at home without risking trouble with the neighbours. You can practise with the integrated metronome or with the fully arranged play-along songs, where you have the option to mute the drum track. In addition, the audio input allows you to connect any kind of playback source (smartphone, MP3 player, CD player, laptop, etc.) to the sound module for playing along.

Finally, you can play the drums at home

With the Millenium MPS-150X e-drum set, being able to play the drums in your house or apartment is no longer just a dream. Drumming along to your favourite songs without becoming the world’s most unpopular neighbour has never been easier. Simply connect your smartphone, laptop, or any other kind of audio source, put on your headphones, set the volume, and immerse yourself in the world of music. Among the 40 internal play-alongs, drum students will find all the important genres - from Rock, Pop, Blues, R&B, and Jazz through to Latin American music - and thus the perfect musical basis for textbook exercises.

T
Absolutely Perfect For Beginners
Tabrez 15.06.2021
I gotta say, I am really shocked by the quality of this drum set at this price point. I got this as a present for my son. After comparing all of the prices similar electronic drum sets, this is almost as low and you can go, and there is still exceptional quality. There is a learning curve to the assembly if you have never set up drums before, (like me), but other than that, this is a smooth ride. The kit shakes a bit when playing pretty hard but this can be adjusted by how you place the rack and by tightening all of the bolts where the pieces connect. The onboard sounds seem pretty good given the price point, I have heard some negativity about that. Also, the bass pedal is absolutely spot on, that I know. The response is also really good, I have heard complaints about that. The only real con that I have with this set is the rim that is on each of the drum pads. Given the size of the pad, the rim is definitely too tall. You can adjust to this, but it can definitely be an annoyance. With that being set, I would still recommend this drum set to anybody, at this price point, it's basically disposable. If you are learning, you can bang away on this thing for years before you upgrade.

TG
A drumset for a total beginner/kid
The GodGift 19.12.2022
Hi this is my review , i ll try to share my opinion to help someone in the future when considering this product.

Very fast, my background : I m a previous Millenium user of the MPS-100 Rubber pad kit , which i bought 15 years ago.It was also the entry kit at the time at a pricetag of 300 Euro if i m correct.

Now into the MPS-150X mesh kit.

Pros:
1)Very Very Quiet . Coming from rubber pads i couldn t believe how quiet the mesh heads are.
2)Compatibility with previous set , hardware wise as well as the module ( i combined both of them for a bigger set)

Cons:
1) Kit is very small , much smaller than my previous entry set.(regarding the horizontal bar distance and what you can fit in there. Also lacks the lower horizontal bar for support.
2) Module is far worse again compared to the previous one that i had , comparing entry product for entry product.
3) The Cables connecting pads+cymbals to the module are not equal in length and are not anymore a jack to jack cable.Meaning that if i can't take the cable from a pad and use it to connect my guitar to an amplifier for example. (like my previous kit was).
Furthermore this may cause you problems with the set up depending on how far you want something from the module.
4) The module sounds are atrocious in sample quality and very few.
This is a problem easily fixed if you connect your drumkit to a pc via usbA to usb(the cable is not included , its very cheap to get though)
5)All drumheads are monozone sound , no rimshots. Crash and ride have choke , but sometimes it's tricky to activate , maybe i need more practice on that. I expected at least a dual zone snare drum 10'' while toms can be 1 zone 8'' a feature that is found on the next tier on the 450 Kit.
6)The triggers are low quality regarding the speed of the hits.So above a certain bpm , module can't easily recognise the input.
Something that you would expect from an entry kit, but i'm just saying so you have an idea of what you are buying.

All in All , a kit for absolute beginners with 0 expectations , if you dont have a problem with noise go for the rubber kit ! if you care for the noise, the mesh heads are exceptional , what i'm only afraid about them , is the durability and the life span they will have , as i m writing this on the 2nd day of setting the drum kit up.
Also if you are buying this for your kid , especially with heavy metal influences , expect an E-kit to not withstand many years of abuse from heavy beating.

A basic kit , VERY quiet!
Right now seems to be a good option for the entry category, (not having tried the competition of course), BUT quality for the pricetag has fallen so so much through the years, let alone the 20% extra price from inflation.

S
Excellent for the money
SimonHK 16.08.2018
For the money, it's really good. The frame is sturdy enough, unless you're in The Foo Fighters. You can place each head and cymbal where you want them. The mesh heads have a good feel, just remember to tighten them up to get a good bounce. The kick drum is OK, you'll need to secure it down on a board or something though, to get it to feel solid and reliable. It has enough finesse. The cymbals are as you'd expect - not like a real cymbal but hey. The internal sounds are pretty good also, they have a little reverb, which helps. I used it via MIDI and Steven Slate Drums, which sounded fantastic. Latency was tolerable.
The only thing that lets it down, and maybe you shouldn't expect this at this price, is the hi-hat. The hi-hat controller is a switch - open or closed, (and a foot clamp sound). It is not a continuously variable hi-hat. For me, this is a very important and expressive part of drum playing, so I returned the kit. Thomann returned it free of charge which was really good of them. All in all, a really excellent kit for the price.

EG
A really good starter kit
E-drums GR 05.01.2020
The mesh drums of this kit are really good. 5/5 feel, quality and response. Bass drum is amazing and really similar to a real kit.
The cymbals are mediocre with ok response 3/5
Drum module is very basic, with ok sounds for the price.
Also the ride is single zone.
The very negative thing about this kit is the rack itself. It is flimsy, even if you tighten everything to max , it will always fall apart . Hitting the snare two or 3 times will lower it. So if you get this kit I would suggest getting a snare stand of appropriate size. Overall for the price this mesh kit is really good!
