A compact workstation for guitarists

In designing the GS1000 Intelligent Amp Profiling Processor, the specialists at Mooer have employed gain pedal, preamp, amplifier, and speaker simulations generated using the innovative MNRS 2.0 sampling technology to create a high-performance multi-effects unit which delivers an astonishingly realistic sound and an extremely authentic playing feel: It's sure to satisfy even the demands of professional guitarists. The already-impressive range of sounds is complemented by over 350 high-quality effects and an integrated groove station that comprises a drum machine and looper, alongside an impressive range of both analogue and digital connections to ensure the level of versatility and flexibility needed for professional applications. The user interface features a 5" colour touchscreen display that lets the player quickly and easily make all of the required settings and adjustments and put together exactly the sounds they want.

Boundless flexibility

At the heart of the Mooer GS1000 Intelligent Amp Profiling Processor is the 5" touchscreen mentioned above, which lets the player intuitively assemble their desired combination of amp models, speaker cabs, effects, and other system parameters. Users are also not restricted to the onboard selection of sounds and functions – immense though it may be – since they can also upload their own impulse responses (IRs) or import them from the Mooer Cloud. The GS1000's technical features are not the only thing that displays its professional ambitions; they're also reflected in the extensive range of connections provided on the rear of the device. They include stereo inputs and outputs, a stereo effects loop, MIDI, headphone and expression pedal sockets, and a USB-C port for direct recording and computer editor-based control, all of which makes the GS1000 an outstandingly flexible solution. A duo of further practical extras are the microphone socket with switchable phantom power as well as Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming.

Mostly for the pros

The Mooer GS1000 Intelligent Amp Profiling Processor is aimed primarily at professional users, who can look forward to an impressive and flexible arsenal of sounds courtesy of the pedal's 350 top-quality effects, MNRS 2.0 sampling engine, and 120 slots for the user's own IRs - all of which make it a versatile and reliable tool for both the stage and the recording studio without compromising on user-friendly operation. Despite boasting such professional features, however, the GS1000 is also an interesting proposition for less experienced guitarists on the lookout for a high-performance multi-effects unit that they can continually explore and experiment with as their skills improve. Its intuitive touchscreen-based operation lets the user configure and adjust their presets and sounds quickly and easily, so even those who are new to the world of multi-effects gear will always have a clear sense of what they're doing.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

A universal solution

Whether it's providing the central sound source on a guitar or bass player's pedalboard, acting as a recording interface in the studio, or being combined with a drum machine, microphone, and looper for some creative improvisation, the Mooer GS1000 is sure to adapt seamlessly to every application, its near-boundless capabilities limited only by the creativity of the player. Not content to simply provide a wide selection of amplifier models, Mooer has also ensured a realistic and tactile playing feel with plenty of presence across the whole spectrum – from clean and rhythm tones through to high-gain sounds. And there's always more creative potential to be tapped courtesy of the Mooer Cloud, which is regularly updated by the addition of new models, special presets, and IRs for the global GS1000 user community.

Limitless possibilities, lots of failure
zngrn 09.08.2025
I was interested in a multifx pedal primarily for portability and headphone playing. What really interested me about this were the sonic possibilities and the ability to alter the chain of effects.
What I found instead was choppy sounds from certain patches, inconsistent volume drops, really poor noise gate(s).

The knobs are limiting and the tinkering modes aren't as simple as some others.

What also annoyed me was the inconsistent switching from stomp mode and patches.

Overall, I was rather more impressed with the Valeton GP200 in a similar price point.

Severly disappointed, I am sending this back after trying it out over three sessions each ranging from 1-3 hours of playing, looping, altering and making patches.

Mooer GS-1000, meine ersten Eindrücke
Dirk G-Punkt 11.02.2025
