Expensive but great quality

I probably should have bought a cheaper generic shockmount rather than the actual Neumann one when I got this, but I had purchased a second-hand M147 at a great price and really fancied the nickel EA1 to go with it. Aside from the price, I can't fault it - it's reliable and the quality is excellent.

It came unsprung recently when I was taking it out, but it was surprisingly easy to put back together. I've used it for nearly five years now and it's still in perfect condition.

Nachdem 2 billige elastische Halterungen von Fremdanbietern sich als Fehlkäufe erwiesen haben habe ich nun doch in den sauren Apfel gebissen und für mein TLM 127 die 200 Euro für die passende Neumann Spinne hingelegt.

Bei dem Preis hätte Neumann der Spinne gerne eine ausladendere Scharube zur Arretierung des Winkels spendieren dürfen. Nur mit äusserster Kraft bekommt man die so fest, daß das Mikrofon nicht durch sein Eigengewicht nach unten wegklappt

Der Betrieb von Großmembranmikros ohne "Spinne" ist schon etwas gewagt. GM-Mikros sind bei einigen Richtquarakteristiken extrem köperschallempfindlich und machen mit "normalen" (d.h. starren) Mikrofonhalterungen einfach zuviel Probleme.

Mit der EA-1 (und einem Popschutz von K&M) hab ich eine total "pflegeleichte" Mikrofonierung für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungen (Trompete, Posaune, Gesang... aber auch akustische Gitarre - denn: die großmembrantypischen Verfärbungen können oft auch sehr interessante Soundbeiträge liefern !).

Mein Fazit: OHNE elastische Halterung geht eigentlich gar nicht.
