The 1073 tone with modern extras. And it is a Neve. The real thing
Fab627 16.05.2026
Bought to replace my old good Apogee Duet, the 1073DPX‑D is now the center of my home studio. It delivers the classic 1073 sound, thick and very musical. The EQ is extremely effective for tone‑shaping. As an interface, the 10‑in / 12‑out USB 2.0 section at 24‑bit/192 kHz is a real bonus and not an afterthought. The integration is straightforward (on a Mac, it is plug and play : No software/driver to install). Monitoring latency is essentially a non‑issue thanks to the zero‑latency monitoring and dedicated headphone amp. The conversion is very clean and the transformers do the expected magic coloring. Connectivity and ergonomics are well thought out (using DAW output 3 and 4 as digital input to the analog unit is brilliant) Build quality is rock solid, and while it’s a little expensive, we are getting two genuine Neve 1073 channels plus a serious interface, so as a long‑term studio investment it makes sense. Better than any plugin can do.

(BTW a info I haven’t find in the product description : the USB cable is 2m long)
