The street is calling!
The Orange Outlowd series was created through a collaboration between the British amplifier manufacturer and Ed Sheeran, bringing the brand's distinctive approach to a range of compact amplifiers designed specifically for acoustic musicians. The Orange Outlowd ES60 goes beyond amplifying an acoustic guitar by offering a second channel for vocals or an additional instrument, making it a practical choice for solo performers and small ensembles alike. Inspired by Sheeran's own beginnings as a busker, the amplifier weighs just under 10kg, delivers up to twelve hours of battery life, and provides 60 watts of output, offering enough volume for street performances as well as intimate venues. A generous selection of built-in features completes the package, giving musicians the flexibility to turn almost any location into a performance space with minimal setup.
Two channels with a versatile layout
The ES60's first channel is dedicated to guitars or other acoustic instruments, providing generous headroom alongside a versatile EQ section that extends beyond the traditional three-band setup. With adjustable mid-frequency and Q controls, it offers detailed tone shaping, making it easy to adapt the sound to different instruments and playing styles. The second channel features a combined XLR/jack input for either a microphone or an additional instrument, adding a wider mid-frequency range from 300Hz to 3.4kHz as well as a high-pass filter, which is especially useful for vocal applications. Independent gain, volume, and reverb controls are available on both channels, while Bluetooth, an AUX input, 48-volt phantom power, a line output and an FX loop round out a comprehensive feature set that is well suited to both practice and live performance.
Compact with headroom
For musicians who enjoy playing outdoors, the Orange Outlowd ES60 offers a versatile solution that adapts easily to a wide range of performance situations. Its extensive connectivity makes it simple to play or sing along with backing tracks, while the FX loop also allows electric instruments to be integrated with external effects, effectively turning the amp into a compact portable PA system. The first channel has been specifically voiced for acoustic guitar, delivering a warm, natural sound with impressive low-end response from its 8" speaker despite the amplifier's compact dimensions. Thanks to its straightforward plug-and-play design, the ES60 also performs equally well with a variety of other acoustic instruments, making it a practical choice for musicians looking for flexibility in a single portable unit.
About Orange
The British company Orange was founded in 1968 by electronics engineer, bassist, and guitarist Cliff Cooper, who among other things was a member of the band "The Millionaires". Even in its early days, when the company was already producing guitar and bass amplifiers and speaker cabinets, it recognised the value of an eye-catching and easily identifiable design. The orange colour, the striking logo, the picture-frame image of the solid-looking amplifiers and speaker cabinets, and the basket-weave speaker grille cloth are still among the distinguishing features of Orange products to this day. In 1979, the unexpected and sudden bankruptcy of its distribution partners obliged Orange to close. Then, in 1993, the U.S. Gibson Group revived the cult brand in England under license and, in 1997, the brand finally went back into the hands of Cliff Cooper. Since then, Orange has once again been actively developing its product range.
Just like the good old days
Despite his worldwide success, Ed Sheeran has never lost sight of his beginnings as a busker, and the Orange Outlowd ES60 reflects the practical needs of that stage in his musical journey. It is equally at home on the street, in the rehearsal room, or at intimate performances such as café gigs, while its balanced line output also makes it a capable stage monitor and a reliable feed for larger PA systems. At lower volume levels, it remains well suited to home practice, offering the same balanced sound without overwhelming the room. Beyond its role as a performance amplifier, the ES60 also functions as a Bluetooth speaker for everyday listening, and with a protective carrying case included, it is ready to travel wherever the music leads.
