The Fishman Loudbox Mini Bluetooth is a combo amp that will guarantee acoustic guitarists serious respect on any stage: With two channels, built-in reverb, and chorus, plus the option to hook up a mic, this 60W amp doesn't just pack enough punch for long sessions – it's flexible as well. And its Bluetooth connectivity makes it incredibly easy to patch it external signals – no hassle, just music.
The Fishman Loudbox Mini offers two channels: The first is designed for acoustic instruments, featuring a three-band EQ, a phase switch, and two effects - chorus and reverb. Channel two, with its XLR input, is for plugging in a microphone and comes with a two-band EQ for bass and treble, plus the option to add reverb to the signal. A master volume knob controls the overall level of the output stage, which delivers its 60W through a 6.5" speaker and a 1" soft-dome tweeter. An AUX-in socket lets musicians play backing tracks or background music for intermissions – the Loudbox Mini's Bluetooth function can be used for the same purpose. A mix DI output sends a clean line signal to connected mixers or computer interfaces.
At some point, even the most upbeat acoustic players hit the wall – no matter how loud a dreadnought is, it just won't cut through, making some amplification essential. Despite the Mini in the name, the Fishman Loudbox delivers a punchy tone and plenty of volume, so it can hold its own even in a loud band mix. With its highly effective EQ and two classy effects – chorus and reverb – ambitious acoustic guitarists also get two powerful tools for shaping their sound, giving them (almost) everything they could ever want.
Fishman is a leading manufacturer of pickup microphones and amplifiers for acoustic instruments. It was founded in 1981 by Larry Fishman, who still runs it today. The first products were pickups for acoustic guitars, which were very quickly adopted by such guitar makers as Guild and Martin. This put the young Massachusetts firm on the map. Subsequently, further pickups were developed and adapted to other instruments, notably the violin, double bass and banjo. In addition to pickup systems, the current product range includes preamps, effects units and special performance acoustic amplifiers.
With its punchy, assertive sound, it would almost be a shame not to use the Fishman Loudbox Mini Bluetooth on stage. And especially when space is tight or the venue doesn't have a PA, singers can use the mic channel to amplify their vocals and add a touch of polish with the onboard effects. For working singer-songwriters or solo performers, there's also the option to run a backing track via Bluetooth while playing and singing live. This feature comes in handy at home too, whether practising to a backing track or just jamming along to a favourite tune.
