Defying physics?
400Ways 18.06.2026
My purchase of the Hughes & Kettner Era C was almost speculative; based upon a few YouTube videos and an educated chance that it would make a useful small amp for solo amplified Jazz guitar. Its diminutive stance and excellent sound quality is testament to the H&K experience in developing reduced size and powerful PA amplification. When connected to a humbucker loaded Ibanez arch top the emanating sound is smooth, powerful and articulate. Very pleasing! The ‘notch’ function works surprisingly well, searching out offending frequencies to reduce feedback. So my initial desire was achieved but let’s not forget tithe Era C is designed as an acoustic combo. I plugged in my slope shoulder equipped with Pure Mini pickup. The sound is exemplary, especially when adding a touch of the excellent onboard reverb. In conclusion, the Era C is a real bargain when taking very good sound quality, design and a top notch build into consideration. Well done H&K.

Erstaunlicher Zwerg
Heinrich H. 05.06.2026
