A beginners viewpoint.

As a beginner on the bass clarinet and having bought a relatively cheap instrument, I found it difficult to set the reed in a consistent position so I decided to buy a new ligature. I now have no difficulty in setting the reed every time, however I find it difficult to convince myself that the ligature can produce the benefits claimed by the manufacturers, maybe as I gain experience I will change my mind on this.
This ligature produced a 100% improvement on the supplied metal version so I have to rate it highly and would recommend it to any beginner.

Das entscheidende der Blattschraube scheint mir die Kombination mit dem Selmer Concept Mundstück, das sensationell gut anspricht, dynamisch höchst flexibel ist und auch stimmt. Als Blatt nutze ich dabei Rico2er. (auf der B-Klarinette nutze ich Vandoren White Master 3,5 auf einer SabineMeyer Bahn eines Zinner Mundstücks. Ein zunächst sehr großer Unterschied in der Blattstärke, aber dennoch problemlos. Die Blattschraube erfüllt ihren Zweck, sie ist solide verarbeitet und unterstützt die positiven Mundstückqualitäten.
