So I am a fan of the Sonicware LofiXT, SmplTrek and now this one line of equipment. The hardware although might feel unassuming, its robust, the encoders seem a bit flismy but so far are not, and the feature set (ins, outs, sync, midi) is solid. Ah and the form factor with batteries is absolutely perfect for me.
As all of these devices the pads are responsive and nice to the feel.
So hw is a 9.5/10 for me, unless people want a metal casing.
Now the focus with this thing is Sound Design. Imaging being a much much better Volca Drums (very good sound design) but now its more usable, storaable, editable and with pretty good presets from the get go. And also nice effects and nice live performance features. So CyDrums excels in this area. The only thing missing is an ARP and a more straightforward to use LFO (I guess you can do that with Mod but seems a bit complicated to me) but as an instrument this is excellent.
