I am very happy with the Sonor Wood Blocks sound. I have the middle and large Sonor blocks, mounted on my Slingerland bass drum; for use in Ragtime - Early Dixieland styles.
I am using the Drum Workshop SM2141 Claw Hook Accessory Clamps to attach the blocks. The DW Clamps are perfect for the job too! When a bit cramped for space, it sounds just like the original recordings; that I am performing right now. Remember the DW clamps only fit rounded BD Hoops! I found the perfect match for my gig! I hope that you do too!

Ich benutze den Wood Block in Verbindung mit einem Fußpedal zur Begleitung meiner Conga Trommeln.
Der Klang ist tief und voll, kein nervendes tak-tak. Geht fast so ein bißchen in die Richtung einer Kuhglocke, aber natürlich auch in Richtung Clave Sticks.

Ich verwende den Mapex Tri-Tone Beater, und davon die Filzseite. Der Ton ist durchsetzungsfähig je nach Anschlag, aber braucht nicht unbedingt gedämpft zu werden. Die Socke kann also am Fuß bleiben.
Wenns etwas deftiger sein muß, dann die Plastikseite, Holz ist zu spitz im Klang.

Die Verarbeitung erscheint massiv. Das Ding ist richtig groß! Möglicherweise würde ich das nächste Mal die mittlere Größe ins Auge fassen.
