Material: 6 mm / 4 layers of birch + 2 layers of walnut
High-gloss lacquer finish shell
10-Hole cast iron rims
The low to medium frequencies of the walnut wood and the clear attack and higher frequencies of the birch wood create a harmonious symbiosis and a very balanced sound

This is my first 14 inch snare and the band noticed the change immediately. It can be a little piercing to get used to, but I'm sure some gels would allow you to tweak it to suit your taste.
I picked this up alongside the shell pack in the same pattern and it looks extremely smart alongside them, as well as sounding perfectly suited for one another.
The Evans heads are excellent quality and it arrived pretty much ready to play with only a few adjustments here and there. It's also been staying in tune well.
The snare adjustment is really smooth and flicking it on and off is a really nice, quiet action.
In all I'd really recommend it, it's a good price and a great purchase and delivery experience, despite me being over in the UK.
