Good strings but not right for me.
I have no doubt these strings are some of the best flatwounds on the market.
However be warned. chances are that you will need to reset up your bass.
I neglected the fact that I was dropping from my two year old standard gauge 45 - 105 to these Thomastik 43 - 100
It didn't sound like much of a difference but it really was.
I read a review from another customer stating something along these Thomastik strings are not very good for playing "driving rock" I totally agree with this statement. I found these strings made me play with a lot of ease and I had a lot more "chops" but the sound and buzzing was what drove me to switch back to my old faithful 45-105 set.
In saying that If I had another bass I'd definitely be keen on having it set up with these slightly lighter strings but for my main bass I found that these strings were not the best match.
best thing about flats is that you can hang on to them forever and they tend to get better with age. No regrets about my purchase.
