Happiness in a box
Simon A 31.05.2022
A great and inspiring pedal. Sounds and feels great on its own, soundsand feels great with pedals, sounds great recorded.

Remark: the reverb of the Dream 65 changes its character depending on the chosen boost model and eq settings, while it can sound like a dull slapback delay even fully clockwise for some settings it really can sound great with other boost and eq settings. However, to me the reverb tail sounds always shorter than in the middle position of the golden reverbarator spring models.

In comparison the Strymon Iridium deluxe reverb model sonds and feels like a dull toy, especially for overdriven sounds and with pedals in front (Iridium owner). If your budget is in the 400 Euro range and you are looking for an easy to use amp sim pedal, I recommend to buy one of the UAFX amp pedals instead of the Strymon Iridium or Walrus ACS1. There is more gratification in one great sounding amp model than tweaking your way through three not so great sounding amp models. Moreover, in my opinion the difference in sound and feel between the deluxe reverb models on the Dream 65 and the Iridium is bigger than the difference between the three amp models included in the Iridium (they have a similar mid-scooped and bassy character, even for the plexi model).

Pro:
- Sound, Sound, Sound, Sound,...

Cons:
- Reverb slightly disappointing in comparison with the golden reverbartor spring model (expected longer reverb tails)
- Although presets are now included, UAFX control app is still an underwhelming experience (no parameter editing, no visualisation/mapping of preset parameters to pedal knob positions)
- 9V jack not properly centered on my pedal

yes but...

Sounds great, reverb is springy. Took me a while to like it - now I love it.
It sits next to my Iridium and Flint.
Different sounds - different options
