A desk to the turn ;-)
Wolfgang670, 27.11.2010
First a huge praise to the service of Thomann, - delivery over night. Lunch ordered and the next day already there ... great service, friendly and professional competence.

So now to the actual:

PACKAGING:

Nice looking cardboard, - Behringer typical ;-). The desk in styrofoam securely packed with a foil with a sachet against any moisture.

FEATURES:

22 channels with 60 mm fader, 8 mic inputs with 48 volt phantompower and 75 Hz lowcut, compressor per microphone input, internal 24.Bit multieffect with 16 presets, built-in USB sound card, 4 stereo inputs, complete 3 band EQ with param. Midi, 3 aux (pre / post), insert per channel, peak LED per channel, mute per channel, 2 track in / out, XLR main out, 2 subgroups with separate output
Internal power supply, dimensions (HxWxD): 90 x 430 x 355 mm, weight 4.78 Kg

Actually everything you need to a professional homerecording, however, the manual is more than just questionable, - no exact description, you have to "really" through. This manual is not intended for the amateur.

SOUND:

Due to the wide range of equalizers, the console has a very appealing and balanced sound. The gain control talks immediately, the microphone preamplifiers have very little to no noise. The built-in USB sound card is nice but not absolutely necessary. The internal effects processor does its job very well, no unnecessary reverb and no noise. For the live use really to use.

PROCESSING:

Well, Behringer does not have the best reputation, but one can clearly say that the processing is very good. The faders go smoothly without grinding, the potentiators can be turned easily, easily and precisely. The connections (jack and XLR) are fixedly installed and do not wobble, even after repeated use.

CONCLUSION:

So I decided to buy a Behringer console, because I used to make good productions on the Eurodesk, I was very impressed with this console, it was at the time a 1: 1 replica of the well-known Mackie console. However, it has left a lasting impression. I am thrilled with the XENYX 2222 USB. It performs its work excellently. I use it to record smaller pop, jingle productions, etc. In terms of mixing consoles, you can not really go wrong with Behringer, the sound, the processing, the features are right. An absolute justified price-performance ratio. The only problem is the manual, well I do not need it, but newcomers are facing a mountain of problems and will not go further, actually a pity, but the problem is always the same with Behringer products. Since only helps practice exercise ...... ;-)
