Powerful bass for professional studios

The Genelec 7360 APM is a subwoofer designed to deliver powerful, transparent bass in the control room. The rear panel features a wide range of analogue and digital connections, along with various adjustment options for seamless integration into virtually any setup. In addition to XLR inputs and outputs and an AES/EBU connection, the subwoofer also features a network port, allowing comprehensive configuration for stereo and multichannel systems via the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software. Sonically, the Genelec 7360 APM delivers clean bass reproduction down to 19Hz with very low distortion. These features combine to make the subwoofer a professional solution for modern studios, particularly in multichannel audio production.

Genelec 7360 APM

State-of-the-art technology for exceptionally clean bass

This subwoofer is fitted with a 10" low-frequency driver, which is housed in a specially developed Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) bass-reflex cabinet. It reproduces frequencies from 19 up to 100 or 150Hz in the LFE channel, and is powered by a Class D amplifier delivering 300W. An electronic system protects the driver against overloads and short circuits, and the amplifier against thermal issues. A maximum sound pressure level (SPL) of 109dB can be achieved. Six analogue XLR inputs and outputs located at the rear of the device allow the connection of up to seven speakers for a multichannel setup. Settings such as crossover slope, phase, and signal gain can be carried out directly using the DIP switches.

The perfect configuration for any room

The Genelec 7360 APM is aimed at professional studio operators seeking an effective subwoofer for their audio productions. Thanks to its SAM (Smart Active Monitor) DSP system, the subwoofer can automatically calibrate itself to the room's acoustic conditions, intelligently adjusting frequency response, level, and phase alignment for perfectly optimised sound in the control room. An optional measurement system is required for calibration, which can be carried out using either the Genelec GLM Kit or the Genelec 9320 Reference Monitor Controller. The software also allows Intelligent Signal Sensing to be enabled, reducing power consumption to just 0.5W in standby mode. Despite its weight of 27kg, the elegant cabinet design featuring two integrated support bars makes the subwoofer easy to transport.

About Genelec

Genelec was founded in 1976 by Ilpo Martikainen. It grew from a family business into one of the world's leading manufacturers of professional studio and broadcasting loudspeakers. To this day, Genelec's loudspeakers are manufactured exclusively in Finland. Genelec offers performance-oriented, neutral-sounding loudspeakers and subwoofer systems for audio professionals and sound enthusiasts, and a combination of innovative technology and design ensure that the range of products is continuously improving. The company is committed to sustainable development and environmental awareness. In 2018, Genelec was awarded the Pro Sound "Company of the Year" award. Genelec speakers are favourites of such recording industry veterans as Obie O'Brien, Michael Carnes, and David Reitzas, as well as of producers like Hardwell, Keith Ross, and Vini Vici.

Optimum placement for maximum performance

Since low-frequency vibrations significantly affect room acoustics, careful placement of the subwoofer in the control room is essential, especially for models capable of reproducing frequencies as low as 19Hz. For optimum performance, the distance between the Genelec 7360 APM driver and the front wall should be less than 0.6 metres, as this can increase both the subwoofer's acoustic output and its maximum sound pressure level. Placing a carpet underneath the subwoofer helps absorb room vibrations. Using the manufacturer's GLM software, the frequency response should be adjusted to be as linear as possible. If further improvements in the frequency response's linearity are required, it may help to shift the subwoofer slightly to the left or right. Accurate placement can be achieved using the 85Hz test tone.

It's worth it with a pair of 8351 & GLM

I started learning mixing 6 years ago and never used a sub. it might sound weird to say it but having a sub is more than hearing the low end , it's about hearing the whole true image from bottom to top and you'll mix your high hats right. I used a of 8351 for one year without a sub , it sounded amazing without it but I couldn't apply a corrective EQ the way I really or truly wanted , now I've changed my work flow and the way I approach things and I also can hear what plugins do. also, the dynamics are amazing you'll the difference between compressors. It's worth it to a GLM kit with it for calibration and through the software I can turn off the sub sometime just to hear how everything sounds without it.
If you're considering the upgrade it's totally recommended

Perfect lows. For the Price compared to other subs. 19Hz!! and 300 Watts. Fits under my desk - perfect location, but you know it's there when pushed. Great addition to any mid-sized atmos system

Top Subwoofer
