Not long ago, it would have been unthinkable to try to put together professional music or video productions without a truckload of equipment; today, everything that is needed fits into a rucksack. However, the equipment needs to be designed with this lightweight flexibility and functionality in mind. The Gravity VARI-ARM M 38 ticks these boxes and then some: With this extremely practical articulated arm, all kinds of devices – such as smartphones, tablets, cameras, microphones, and lighting (to name but a few options) can be set up easily and accurately in a matter of seconds. Thanks to its rugged mounting clamp, the Gravity VARI-ARM M 38 can itself be attached to microphone stands, lighting trusses, table tops or, if necessary, a suitably sturdy tree branch. Once the user has found the perfect spot for their equipment, all the VARI-ARM's moving parts are simply fixed in place with a single rotary wing screw.
The solid exoskeleton of the Gravity VARI-ARM M 38 is simply a pair of robust powder-coated steel tubes. The mounting arm is 335mm long in total, with three independent joints that can be used to adjust your equipment precisely to the desired position. All three joints are fixed or released with a single adjusting screw. Even when fully extended, the M 38 can handle loads of up to 3kg, easily managing devices like professional zoom-lens cameras or heavy-duty microphones. The M 38 is locked in place with a really robust clamp which, with an operational range of 15 to 35mm, can be used to attach it almost anywhere. The 3/8" thread at one end of the mounting arm will take a mic holder or pop filter, for instance. A 1/4" reduction thread is also included, suitable for almost any camera, smartphone mount, or similar device.
The Gravity VARI-ARM M 38 is a real helping hand for anybody who likes to produce their content where the action is. For musicians, this can be on stage, recording at home, or a spontaneous jam session in the garden. Of course, photographers and video artists also need to have their equipment ready to capture their subjects and stories at a moment's notice. The same applies to YouTubers, TikTokers, and anyone who creates content for social media. The Gravity VARI-ARM M 38, combining portability, flexibility, and reliability, was developed for precisely these purposes. And because it's just so quick and simple to set up a microphone properly, the VARI-ARM is also sure to have many fans among podcasters and their producers: Interviews (for instance) often take place on location – and not just at the kitchen table, although it would cut a fine figure here too! Ultimately, the Gravity VARI-ARM M 38 is bound to make any home or hobby studio a better-organised place to work.
Gravity is a brand of German origin of the Adam Hall Group. It specialises in the development of tripods and mounts for stage equipment and of the different systems required for its transport. Only high-quality materials are used in the production of all products and ensure that they possess the requisite qualities of robustness, durability and stability. Care is also taken during development to ensure that all products are simple and practical for users to handle. At the same time, much emphasis is placed on design: Gravity’s products are an ideal combination of aesthetic appearance and ease of use.
Of course, Gravity's range of products includes more than just the various flexible VARI-ARM articulated arms. First and foremost, the company is known for the larger pieces of equipment to which the VARI-ARM can be attached: These are mainly microphone stands, such as the MS 2322 or the MS 4322, but a VARI-ARM is also a useful addition to a music stand (e.g. the Gravity NS 411). Space is always at a particular premium in home recording situations and project studios, with every additional stand taking up valuable floor space. Conveniently enough, the VARI-ARM can be quickly and securely attached to many existing bits of studio gear, such as the Gravity Vari-G series multi-guitar and bass stands.
