The impression on opening the box is positive, it looks just as good as it does in the pictures. It also sounds great, the pickups are quite good, I'm comparing them to a Fender Player Strat and they stack up well. The bridge is the weakest position, but it's still a nice, clear sound.

The tuners work great, neck is lovely, frets in good shape and the finish is beautiful. No problems with tuning or any of the hardware except one minor thing - a ferrule from the back of the body dropped out when changing strings. Pretty minor because it's held in by a string being on there anyway, but a little annoying.

The main issue I had though was the electronics. There was quite a lot more than the usual single coil hum when plugged in - it was loud even at low gain and volume. After opening up and fixing the ground solder it's fine, but not ideal on a brand new guitar. Thomann assured me this was normal hum, but I can directly compare to another single coil guitar and it was LOUD. It's quieter now, but this is not a silent instrument. It's got a vintage sound with vintage hum so even working as intended, you may not like how much noise these pickups generate when your hand isn't on a metal part of the guitar.

I would rate the quality higher if the QC was a bit better, but the guitar is good - sounds good, looks good. It's not going to beat a more expensive Telecaster, but it's a lot of guitar for the price.

I've now bought 3 of the TE models. So as you can tell I regard them highly. The neck is a caramilsed wonderful C shape which had no sign of fret sprout and played effortlessly all along the neck, a real highlight. The pickups do their job of a T-type admirably and maybe just lose out on some sophistication of tele sounds of a much dearer Fender type but very useable. The only thing I do to this guitar is upgrade to brass saddles which seems to give the sound a more pleasing fullness. No build issues at all, and absolute steal! Hope youre as lucky as me and they are all like this! Well done Harley!!

Good stuff and every time goes better from HB. Everything functions perfectly, no loose knobs or switches or plugs.
Sounds good. Not exactly I wished but thats me. PU's are good but again - not my preference for T-style. D'Addario strings from factory are very nice move and I think it is part of the good sound.
Stays in tune and intonation is perfectly adjustable.
Neck is exellent quality. All finish is superb, including fretwork.
Downside for me is weight, which is rather on heavy side. Not as much as TE90 series but could be less for full gigs. But again, that's me and I know that lots of players prefere rather weight then "weightless".

I received the Instrument today. Looks pretty good, although the shade of blue is lighter than the website showed - but okay). The neck is narrow (as advertised) and good for me with smaller hands. However the fret edges were 'noticable' (a little) when playing (not terrible but noticable). There seems to be a little bit of fret choking here and there on the neck (even though I specifically asked for 'quality control' to check the guitar before shipping). The pickups sound fine. Tuners seem okay at the moment, although I need to restring the guitar 'properly' to be certain there are no problems. Intonation appears to be okay. All in all an Okay guitar for the money except for the string 'choking' here and there (and I'm not talking about string choking when bending the strings either).

I watched several positive reviews of this guitar and I was not disappointed when this arrived. The finish is superb, double binding looks amazing. The pickups and neck work really well. Tuners are stable and the body is finished in a beautiful sparkled blue. The tone pot is loose and does not work too well so this has obviously not been quality checked. The action is good but will need a couple of tweaks to be just right for my playing style. All in all, great value. It just lost a star for the faulty knob, otherwise it would have been perfect. What a great guitar for a beginner, and it produces a lovely ‘Tele’ type sound.
