Cures whistling
Jenna 04.04.2014
I have a tendency to struggle with whistling E strings when changing string quickly from the A to the E. Fo far, the only solution has been to fit these strings. Quite simply, they work.

I play mostly old-time fiddle tunes, and this necessitates a lot of re-tuning and as theses strings are a little more fragile than plain steel plated E strings, you need to be careful to avoid premature breakage. I have found these strings combine well with d'Addario Helicore and Zyex, and also Thomastik Vision and Warchal Karneol.

Didn't like it

This was the first time I tried a wound e and didn't like it, it sounded too dark, dull and slow to respond to me so I am going back to a plain e

The non-whistling it's great

Although the non-whistling it's wonderful, I didn't feel it has the best sound quality as top E-strings, but definitely nice to try

It works for a few months
B NL 05.02.2025
The string sounds good, warm, and relaxed. It is easy to play however it lasts barely 3 months when practicing only an hour a day. The winding fails. Most of my strings last 5 to 6 months so this seems a bit on the low side. It is not too expensive however I am still not sure if it is worth it.
