Portable 66-channel audio interface
The RME Digiface USB is a compact 66-channel audio interface equipped with four optical ADAT/SPDIF inputs and outputs that are complemented by a high-quality 6.3mm analogue headphone output. Designed for straightforward setup and dependable performance, it benefits from RME's advanced driver technology, delivering exceptional reliability on both Windows and OS X, along with impressively low latency for smooth, efficient operation. USB bus power further enhances its portability, making it a practical choice for mobile recording and production environments. The included TotalMix FX software provides extensive routing and monitoring capabilities, while also supporting convenient network-based remote control for added flexibility.
Automatic format recognition
Offering impressive flexibility, the Digiface USB supports up to 32 channels at 24-bit/48kHz, 16 channels at 24-bit/96kHz, and eight channels at 24-bit/192kHz via ADAT on both the input and output sides. When operating in SPDIF mode, each optical TOSLINK connection carries two channels, with the inputs automatically recognising the connected format while the outputs can be manually configured for either ADAT or SPDIF operation. RME's SynchAlign technology further enhances performance by ensuring sample-accurate channel mapping across all connections. Completing the package is a high-quality 6.3mm analogue headphone output that delivers excellent noise and distortion performance for clear, reliable monitoring.
Transmission via ADAT and SPDIF
The compact RME Digiface USB is designed for the straightforward transfer of digital audio between ADAT and SPDIF devices and a PC or Mac, combining versatility with a highly portable form factor. Weighing just 220g and powered directly via USB, it is particularly well suited to mobile recording and production setups, while its robust driver performance and extensive channel count make it equally effective in more demanding studio environments. Whether it's used as a central hub for digital audio routing or as a flexible interface for a range of connected equipment, the Digiface USB adapts easily to different workflows. For musicians, producers, and engineers working with ADAT and SPDIF devices, it offers a practical and dependable solution both on the move and in the studio.
