Das reich angelegte Tonrepertoire bietet eine Vielfalt an Spielmöglichkeiten. Der Sound ist nicht ganz so weich und obertonreich angelegt wie bei anderen Sela-Instrumenten und bedarf einer präziseren Spielweise und Schlagtechnik, um die inneliegende Klangfülle des Instruments zu erschließen. Auch von der tonalen Kombinationsbreite sicher eine Handpan, die sich eher für fortgeschrittene Spieler empfiehlt.
