It has the looks
That’s a damn sexy microphone, beautifully made, and very sturdy. However there are some issues with it:
1. In loud rehearsals and gigs it doesn’t stand out and cut through the mix no matter how you will eq it.
2. Compared to other Shure microphones is very silent, even if you max the volume in the console it doesn’t get louder. I was rehearsing with my band and with the same channel settings the SM 58 was 2dB louder.
It’s not a bad microphone however I feel the SM58 is more suitable for rehearsals.
I’m currently using it in my home studio only

It is what it is.
Great for the look, and works well for quiet intimate cafe/restaurant gigs.
But I found it not the best for larger, louder gigs it struggled to cut through the mix and turning it up only resulted in feedback.
I found myself sing with my lips having to touch the casing nearly.
But at the end of the day, it is what it is. If you want the mic that looks vintage, this is the one and only original.

good vintage microphone
Shure SH55 Series II microphone is good looking, sounds not so bad, have a switch (I really don’t know, for what?). And that’s all. I believe that it is pretty good for some kind of singers, but I better choose Shure Super 55 Deluxe. In our band it is used for backing vocals and is OK!

The classic!
If you are looking for the perfect vocal sound, I would recommend you buying another mic as this one sounds a bit flat. But it's the looks that make this mike the one to go after! Good build quality, too.

Nice mic
I had the Shure 58A beta before, and I want to have one more dynamic mic for my band, thus, I bought this Shure SH55.
Really amazing mic, looks good and easily to preform your voice, I think it have a little reverb from the mic.
really nice, one more choice for my band vocal.

Cool looking speaker
I really like the looks of this microphone. However I prefer the Shure SM57 for sound quality. Still glad I bought it for the looks.

Good microphone.
Bought this for home vocal recording. I haven't got a great deal of use out of it so far, but when I have used it, I've been satisfied. It's a little thin on the low end, despite its frequency range being listed as 40Hz-20kHz. Still, quite happy, and will continue to use it.
