Great detailed headphones
Jay237921, 16.06.2018
I bought the Sony MDR-7506 couple of months ago from Thomann. I am using these headphones for my location recording connected to my portable mixer. and I can say so far that they sound Brilliant.
Very lightweight and comfortable on the head, if you are recording on location for long hours you don't want a heavy pair of headphones on your ears. In addition, they cover all my ear for maximum comfort. The MDR-7506 are foldable they fit very easily in any bag and it somehow helps to protect the headphones. These particular headphones have a nearly flat frequency response across the spectrum which makes it convenient to monitor your sounds with great accuracy without any coloration.

For me, these are perfect headphones for location recording. they are the industry standard for many years now. I do highly recommend these headphones.

an upgrade worth having
Karyan , 14.05.2019
the purpose of this monitors is to tell you the truth and that's exactly what they do, i am using them to "train" my ears to be sharper and more accurate and they are wonderful for that purpose.
in my case is for voice and vocal monitoring and they pick up a WIDE spectrum of sound and deliver it as advertised.
Pros: honesty of sound and good build quality, as well as look good in my opinion,
Cons: price can be an issue , but they are an industry standard .
And as mentioned, comfort is not their strong suit. after about 30-60 mins you feel ear fatigue and have to re-adjust them.
Pro&con: the non detachable curled cable ,is conformable while recording, but in editing after a while you feel the weight of the bulky cable on your left side.

conclusion : BUY! its the best education that your ears can get if you wanna advance your skills .

I bought these to use for playing the guitar without waking the entire house, and for that purpose the work very well, although I do most of the time tend to just play completely unplugged if I don't want to did disturb anyone.

The sound of these is crisp and clear and they do deserve the label of studio monitors as the sound is indeed very flat and neutral.

They are fairly light on the head and breathe fairly well, but they're far from the most comfortable headphones I've used, but then again I'm comparing them to headphones that cost four times as much, and that's not really fair.

The only real complaint I have is the weight of the cable, because it's really quite hefty and it feels like it pulls the headphones down when you wear them, unless you have the cable resting on a table or something.

I also noticed that when I hooked them up to my headphone amp there is a very audible and rather distracting hiss, which I assume has to do with the impedance of the headphones as that's not present at any other time, and thus isn't really and issue with the headphones themselves, just something to keep in mind.

All in all though, for the price they are definitely good headphones that appear to be of good quality and they seem like they might last a long time, although they haven't been in daily use and as such I can't really comment on durability, but they don't feel flimsy at all.
