Cool and unique Stingray
DocentPl 08.03.2025
I've been a causal bass player for a while and I wanted a new 4-string to start more serious learning. I picked this bass because I wanted a Stingray and I loved the looks. Initially the bass arrived with a damaged tuner, but Thomann sent a replacement. The bass was playable out of the box, but I took it to a guitar tech to have fret leveling, saddle adjustment and setup done, and now it's super comfortable to play. Feels even better than my Jazz Bass. The fretboard has a perfect thickness for me and the back has ideal smoothness.

It's a passive bass, so the sound is a bit different than a traditional Stingray - it's less bright and less clanky but still retains the Stingray character and could be used in variety of styles from rock to funk. The tone pot is very usable and the tuners work absolutely fine.

The only gripe I have is that two tiny specks of paint chipped off around the neck joint - in two different places. It's nothing major and they're barely visible so not a big issue. Also, I'd prefer if knobs had markings like dots or something, but I guess I can replace them.

To sum up, it's a great bass and I'll definitely keep it and use it for my learning and hopefully playing with people.

Pete Wentz signature stingray bass

What a fantastic bass for the money!!! Easily as good as the Ray 34. It is a passive bass but the tonal options are plenty! A must but for any Fall Out Boy fans - but a cracking instrument for any genre! 🤟🤟

Volume et tonalité, what else.
