At all times to be prefered above the "oils"
Dirk2794 05.07.2015
I only use slide-cream, do not like the oils at all. I find the lubrication given by the creams surpasses by far that of the oils.
I only use Superslick or Trombotine, depending on what is most easily available. To me they are equally good. I however prefer the packaging in a little pots above the tubes used by Trombotine.
I was once told that trombotine, contrary to Superslick, is of natural origin. Have no idea if this is correct. In any case it does not matter to me, as they both do their job perfectly.

slide cream

I love this stuff! I'm a trumpet player, so I only use it to lubricate my tuning slide & triggers, but it's perfect, just a little spot is enough to keep them slick and keeps the tuning slide free without being too loose. perfect.

Very different than Slide-O-Mix
Ansjo 17.08.2022
Normally I use Slide-O-Mix like perhaps 95% of all trombone players but I saw some videos of good trombone players that prefer this. It takes a while to get used to. It really works the best if you clean the insides of the outer slide tube thoroughly a couple of times a year.
