The best Hub Ever
I am using the Swissonic USB Hub 1916 since 2 months for my Studio equipment, I am connecting the following:
Komplete Kontrol S88
Maschine Jam
Maschine MK 3
2 X 5 TB Drives
Midi Hub
Korg Wavestate
Akai 25
Launch Control
Launch Pad X
AKAI MIDI Mix
Behringer Xenyx X1622USB
Focusrite 8i6
and
12.9 iPAD
iPhone
and it is working amazingly well with no hustle. it is so powerful with its 198 watts of power, all equipment are working seamlessly.
It is one of my best investments.
The only one issue I faced is that it has no comprehensive user manual, only one brief datasheet. and when I had some questions I've sent an email to the support team and I did not get any reply. Also there is no reference anywhere on the internet nor a website.
However, the product is amazing and working perfectly well, and I am thinking of buying another one as a backup, as all my studio equipment are depending on that single source of data so I need a backup.

Great USB hub for Studio Applications
Good Solidly made USB hub,1U Metal casing,looks like it would survive life on the road,great that it's rack mountable also,I had looked around for a decent USB hub that catered for larger USB port counts for a while,which wasn't one of those annoying desktop models,I wish it had a few more ports on the Back though as well and that each port was able to be switched on/off,really pleased with this product,works flawlessly, both with USB thumb drives and USB powered devices,and also charges the phone which is handy!!!!my only negative is the USB 3.0 type B cable thats it supplied with is a little on the short side ,would have been nicer to have a longer cable since my rack is not situated near to the Computer,(I have since purchased a longer cable)Overall a good product,if a little bit overpriced for what it is,but suppose there is very little else on the market which offers the same aesthetics and practicalities,easy to use,just simply plug and play,and doesn't seem to suffer power failures to the Connected devices like some of the standalone hubs I've use, a no fuss USB hub,would recommend it for any who wants a decent USB hub with plenty of ports for studio use.

Seems to work great so far
I'm not really into outboard gear, but having just grabbed a new desk with 9u, this has been a godsend compared to having 2 hubs on my desk. Currently it has ilok 3, waves key, card reader, UR824 interface, 2x USB-c charging cables, x-touch one, nektar impact, stream deck mkII all plugged in and working fantastically with no issues. For anyone wondering technically, it shows up as 4x USB 2 hubs and 4x USB 3 hubs, each with 4 ports from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (0x0411, 0x0bda)

Absolutly solid, the backbone of my studio for many years now.
When putting together a home studio, a good USB hub is not something that most people would think to seriously about. But out of all the equipment that i have ever owned (and that's a lot), this thing has never let me down or left me wanting. And i have certainly never looked at this and wished that i'd saved money on something cheaper.

If you buy a mixer or MIDI hub with more I.O. than you currently need, so that your studio can grow over time, then i see no reason why you should not have the same attitude with your USB hub, especially now more and more kit is coming out that can only be powered this way (the Roland TR-6S for instance).

For various reasons, i have had to try many USB hubs since buying this one, but this has outlasted them all by many years. So yes, you can get an OK USB hub for less money than this, but over time that is just a false economy.

And even if you change or give up on your dream of a home studio, for as long as you continue to use computers for anything at all then this will still be of use to you.

I'm amazed
I was looking for years for a proper usb hub, tried all sorts of but always had the high pitched sound when plugin it into the power with consumer market usb hubs. This is probably the best thing u can get for the studio I plugged all my synths that use usb on this and it works flawless. I'll probably buy a 2nd one when i have the money. It's pretty expensive but so worth it. Get it while u can...

In case you're wondering what the status lights do ...
This is a good product but the manual is a 1 page document with very little info. I thought mine was faulty because the status lights weren't illuminating. Customer Services have been helpful. Apparently, they only light when something is connected that draws more than 300mA. Connecting a device like a Wes Audio Mimas which is self-powered doesn't seem to illuminate the lights but connecting a mobile phone that needs charging does. The lighst can also flicker while establishing the connection. So all good and glad I've got an explanation.

Way better than 2 or 3 plastic USB hubs.
Solid build! Really like it.
- Bought this piece as I had enough to replace desktop hubs every so often.
- I use 10 ports now and no power issues whatsoever.
- heavy - won't leave studio anytime soon :)
- front power switch - makes it easy to disconnect everything

Bien
Remplit son rôle de Hub USB 2 qui convient à la plupart de mes périphériques. Seuls les plus modernes nécessitent du USB SuperSpeed 3.1 et passent par un autre hub USB plus petit en complément.

Perfect for my needs
This is a great unit, which I am so glad is still in stock. Unit powers all I/O on a acoustic automation rig and has never let us down operating 24/7 for a year. Highly recommend!
