The wooden handle is what wins me over with this mallet! Many manufacturers make the handle from plastic that feels very cheap, these are much nicer to hold.

This particular size is good for any singing bowl up until like 12–14” diameter. Above those sizes, I would choose a larger mallet both is thickness as well as length.

Habe diesen Thomann KSHL20 Schlägel für eine kleine, gestimmte Asian Sound Singing Bowl C gekauft. Der Original Schlägel ist nicht nur sehr klobig , er ist mit Gummi ummantelt. Gummi eignet sich nicht zum Anreiben metallener Schalen, das Material muss rauer sein. Dieser hier ist mit Leder umwickelt, das passt. Zum Anreiben benötige ich ziemlich viel Druck, dann fängt die Schale an wunderbar zu schwingen. Geschlagen ebefalls fein; der Ton brilliant, aber nicht zu hart. Verarbeitungsseitig gibt es nix zu mäckern. Für größere Schalen - so ab 15cm aufwärts - solltet ihr aber die größeren Varianten wählen.
