Good quality but...

I was wanting a mallet for larger Tibetan bowls. However although this is medium to large, the wood is of a light weight, so it does not play large bowls well. One needs a mallet heavy in weight (i.e. a dense hard wood) to play these bowls well.

JS
Lightweight and responsive mallet for precise bowl playing
Juan Sanchez Plaza 26.03.2026
I’ve been using the Thomann KSHL43 mallet in my singing bowl sessions, and it’s been a great addition for more detailed and controlled playing.

This mallet feels lighter and more precise, which makes it particularly good for smaller bowls or more subtle sound work. It responds well when playing around the rim, allowing for a clear and stable sustained tone. The grip is comfortable and gives good control, making it easy to maintain consistency. It’s especially useful for creating softer textures and delicate layers. Because of its size and weight, it may not be the best option for larger bowls that require more pressure, but for detailed work it performs very well.

Overall, a well-designed and responsive mallet, ideal for precision and softer playing. A great complement to heavier mallets.

Far better than the standard mallets
Lord Nibbler 28.08.2020
With the Thomann singing bowls, you get mallet which does an average job, This mallet is much better and definitely worth the money for the improved response and ease of rubbing.

Surprisingly good
MinaSchu 03.11.2024
I must say I was pleasantly surprised how good a singing bowl can sing when played with this mallet. I don’t mean just hitting the bowl but circling continuously with it around the edges. I am happy that I gave it a shot. I also bought a smaller one, which is suitable for smaller bowls. For now both of them look good and are of good quality.
