Great tool for better performances
I use VEP to host a few instances of Omnispheres, because in my huge Cubase template (3000+ tracks, all disabled) they simply take too much time to load sounds. So I link a VEP project to a Cubase Project, and all my CPU-hungry plugins are extremely fast since they are not loaded directly in Cubase anymore. When I close my Cubase project and re-open it, VEP reload automatically all my plugins linked to that Cubase project with the right settings, patches I created/modified, ...
It's not cheap, but it works very well. You can search on Google many ways to use it. My use of it is pretty basic, but a lot of film composers use it with slave computers in order to load massive templates without having to reload samples every time they open a new project in their DAW.

They’ve fixed most of my bug reports
But the design is no match for their brilliant Synchron Player. When I got this after the iLok transition the software crashed constantly. They fixed those crashes though. They are playing catch-up after being the leader 10+ years ago. VEPro is still their most important and unique value proposition because of workflow benefits. Make a template with multitimbral parts (even Spitfires annoying plugins) and load it only once, even if on the same machine as your DAW. Using a second machine wasn’t such a win for me but the one-box thing works brilliantly. I have a virtual orchestra dialed in at the ready any time. For Logic I use one instrument per instance, along with Art Conductor articulations, and I save RAM using the power switches on the instances. This is different than the massive four or five instances people use with Cubase. Great buy, and the Epic Orchestra 2.0 that comes with is nice too.

VEP7 very good but resource consuming
Very good Orchestral ensemble. Sounds and articulation are far sufficient to start to write orchestral compositions. Video and Tuto are available on the producer site: mandatory to be able to run it. The only issue I found is that I loaded the 70Gb of data in my 2nd HDD but it is not fast enough, I face some clic and sound breaks. Should be better to have it on SSD if you have the right place there. conclusion: Very good !
