Compact interface, intuitive workflow
The Yamaha URX22 is a compact yet powerful audio interface, with its high‑quality hardware and two analogue inputs and outputs making it suitable for pro-grade recordings in a range of scenarios. The integrated touchscreen ensures a clear and streamlined workflow, allowing users to control both their individual routing paths and the device's internal effects quickly and intuitively. Two headphone outputs on the front panel offer comfortable shared monitoring for an interviewer and a guest, for instance – also practical for duos recording or streaming their sessions. The two XLR combo sockets on the rear, along with the headset connection on the front, provide flexible options for connecting microphones, line signals, or an instrument like a guitar, making the URX22 suitable for music production as well as for podcasts, live streaming and gaming setups.
True Sound
The URX22 has two high‑quality microphone preamps, which are based on Yamaha's True Sound philosophy and support sampling rates of up to 196kHz, ensuring detailed recordings. The dynamic range of 125dB on the main outs provides sufficient headroom to reproduce both very quiet and very loud passages accurately and authentically. For sound shaping and professional live processing, the URX22 boasts a wide range of internal effects, including gate, compressor, EQ, reverb, amp simulations, and a pitch shifter, with parameters that are adjusted conveniently using four tactile rotary controls. An AUX input on the front of the Yamaha URX22 allows external stereo sources, such as a media player or a mobile device, to be integrated easily into a recording or stream.
Intuitive yet professional
In addition to singer‑songwriters or streaming gamers, the Yamaha URX22 will also appeal to influencers and hybrid journalists, indeed anyone who works with speech or music. Integrated tools such as ducking and auto-gain make otherwise time-consuming workflows effortless. Used live – for presentations, interviews, performances – the device delivers stable and reliable results. Thanks to the clearly structured control interface, users will quickly find themselves creating high‑quality productions: What's more, for common recurring scenarios, individual setups can be saved as presets. When working with external video sources, an integrated delay makes it possible to align audio latency precisely. Beginners, in turn, will benefit most from the Simple Mode, which makes the essential functions accessible and makes the initial learning process even smoother.
About Yamaha
For decades, Yamaha has been one of the world's best-known manufacturers of musical instruments and audio technology. The Japanese company's long history began at the end of the 19th century with the harmonium. The product range has constantly expanded since then, which has made Yamaha one of the few manufacturers today to offer almost the entire range of existing musical instruments: From upright and grand pianos to guitars, wind instruments, and bowed string instruments and from drums and percussion to electronic keyboards and synthesizers. Yamaha is also a major force in the field of audio engineering as a manufacturer of mixing consoles, amplifiers, PA systems, and more. Yamaha's guiding principle is to combine traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology.
Seamless integration
Thanks to its seamless integration with software such as OBS Studio and Elgato Stream Deck, the Yamaha URX22 can be incorporated cleanly into existing production and streaming workflows. A comprehensive software bundle is also included for immediate access to a professional audio production suite: Cubase AI as a powerful DAW, WaveLab Cast for post‑production and the editing of speech and streaming audio, and Steinberg Plus, a collection of virtual instruments and other tools for creative music‑making. The device also provides all the essential connection options for modern audio production: 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, a Hi‑Z input for instruments such as electric guitar or bass, a dedicated headset input for gamers or coaches, and flexible monitoring options via the two headphone outputs. For versatile sound shaping, there are even amp simulations and additional effects and tools on board too, making the URX22 a flexible instrument for all musicians and content creators.
