Best headphones under £100
takethemaskoff 19.07.2021
I have been using the more expensive HD25 headphones for 20 years and rate their sound and build quality, when I saw the light version was available now i bought a pair for my daughter to listen to music and also for monitoring purposes on her pc, then I got a pair for my partner as she needed some decent headphones for her computer for too.
The sound is pretty much identical to my more expensive HD25's and I haven't heard better headphones at this price. The build quality seems good as we haven't had any breakages yet, and as far as I know all parts are repaceable if anything does break. The sound is amazing and well balanced, bass is exceptional and volume more than adequate.

t
overall good, but not the best build quality or comfort
tacocat 10.06.2026
The sound is fairly neutral, but I find them a bit mid-forward, which often is the case with Sennheiser. But especially for the price, they perform quite well.
In terms of comfort and build quality I have to say they aren't the best. On the positive, they are very light and low profile, and the cable is detachable. But other than that it feels like they made little effort here. Very plastic, and the ear pads are stiff and make my ears hurt after not very long.
I have heard the "Light" has less clamp than the regular HD-25 which was why I got them instead, and these are still on the tight side, so I'm glad I did. The head band can be bent carefully a bit, to make them clamp less, though and this makes them more bearable for a bit longer.
I feel like they missed such an opportunity with these, if the ear cups were designed to swivel so they could pack flat in your bag, they would be so much better just for that reason. A little bit of memory foam for the ear pads or something, would have helped a lot too. They didn't even include a little cloth pouch either.
But there aren't many on-ear models on the market, especially not that are neutral enough and being reasonably accurate for monitoring. So I'll be keeping them, and overall they are good for what they are.

Happy Head & Ears

1st My only criticism is I wish the cable was longer that said, great product & price. Light & comfortable, great sound. These head phones work great with my DDM 400 also purchase from Thomman. Next to purchase are cd players. Great customer service, I Highley recommend buying from Thomann
