Perfect budget for condenser but the shockmount is decent.
I use this for live game streaming and recording vocal music. Sometimes podcasting, but due to takes space I prefer to use dynamic microphone when podcasting.
The sound is incredible low noise. This is my first condenser microphone, this mainly use by my wife. Her low volume voice peaks naturally, it fits with her ASMR-like voice.
PROS:
1. Great sound. The difference between Rode NT1-A and this is almost the same. But not at high frequencies.
2. Looks durable
3. Detail with high frequency sound.
4. Solid build but not heavy weight compare to SM58.
CONS:
1. The Pop filter is easily to loose when I try to adjust to different direction. Which is annoying (IMO) that it easily fall off.
2. Pop filter is limited to install in front. See the photos in Thomann. I prefer at least there is clip in pop filter for flexibility to install in any side.
3. Some might hear the sound of this microphone is harsh at high frequency.
4. The XLR connection is flip to the other side. But in my case, it doesn't matter at all.

A real bargain!
Full disclosure: I'm not an audio geek, so I'm not in any position to critique the finer points of this mic. I use it to record vocals and, to my plebian ears, this does the job very well. While it's possible that a very high-end mic will deliver better sound, I really can't imagine why someone would pay thousands when something like this is perfectly adequate for most needs.
This mic is flexible, solidly built, and has nice features. Definitely recommend!

Excellent microphone at a great price
I actually bought this mic when it was still branded Tannoy. I was so pleased by the overall quality that I bought a second one. Originally I bought it just for vocals, where it sounds excellent, but than I tried them for recording piano and that was the biggest surprise for me. I used 3 stereo pairs and amongst them the Neumann KM184mt's. And surprisingly I prefer the sound of the TM1's. I admit that the individual preferences definitely vary from user to user and that the likes and dislikes are a very subjective matter. There are some users who say, that the TM1 has a higher noise level - I didn't notice that but I'm just a practical user and I haven't done any scientifical research on the noise or sound quality.
Regarding build quality, it is perfect. I have really nothing to complain and I'm 100% satisfied with the TM1's.
