Just the best expression pedal there is!
EvilDragon 20.11.2018
I wanted to upgrade from Kurzweil's CC1 pedals because they have a pretty short travel (15°). Yamaha FC7 is probably the undisputed champion of expression pedals for quite a long time now - and I say it's definitely deserved!

The only thing that could be considered a negative with this pedal is that it uses a 50 kOhm logarithmic potentiometer, whereas almost all other expression pedals use linear pots (and usually 10 or 20 kOhm). So there will need to be some soldering in order to reduce the impedance of the pedal so that I can use it with my Kurzweil PC3K8 keyboard. No matter - an easy job to do.

Just get one. Get two. Hell, get as many as your MIDI controller can connect. Be Vangelis. Enjoy life!

Important and well working
Markus2717 18.02.2014
If you're playing keys or organ, it is necessary to use a volume pedal.
I didn't want to spend too much money, but I also wanted to have a good quality. After trying some pedals at Thomann Music Store in Treppendorf, Germany (It's like disney land for musicians!!) I chose the Yamaha FC-7. It has a wide base for big foots and its surface is anti slip with the naps on top of the pedal. Also the underground of the pedal is anti slip, and that is very important for performing on stage.
The cable looks a bit weak, but it works for more than 3 years and there were no problems.
What you have to know: It has no zero point! But that's ok for me. I don't play if I don't want to have sound.

A must for serious organ players
Hepcat McSwing 07.02.2020
I mostly play Hammond with the ridiculously expensive Hammond expression pedals.
I got this one to use with a Roland VK-8 that I sometimes still use on tour. That meant I had to reverse the polarity (Yamaha and Roland don't mix), but that was easy enough.
The pedal has a nice long throw, which makes it a true organ expression pedal. It's built solid and compact, which makes it easy to carry around. It is relatively light but stays well in place. To my (personal!) taste, it could use a fraction more resistance. I tend to overstep it. Other than that, this is one of the best organ expression pedals out there.

Solid, reliable, long throw.
DrCheese 28.05.2020
This is my second FC-7 (the first one is still working perfectly). You can rely on it long term and it is solid enough not to slip around the floor in use. It has a long throw so it is probably better suited to be used with a keyboard when seated (I use it with a Nord Stage and it works perfectly). Having said this, a small amount of adjustment of the angle of throw is possible via a small screw on the underside. The cable can be tucked inside the pedal mechanism for transportation but I don't tend to bother with this.
