Suprisingly simple

I thought getting into the world of networking, LANs, sACN and IP addresses was going to be a minefield, but I simply plugged the network cable into my PC, some lights via DMX on the other end and fired up my software and everything worked first time. Gobsmacked.

ArtNet unreliable, but sACN works

Using ArtNet with the NETcon 8-3 has been unreliable. Frequently the node lags and the DMX output freezes for about a second, and then resumes working normally again. When this happens, it happens approx every 10 seconds. Sometimes it doesn't happen, and sometimes restarting the node fixes the issue. There seems to be some network issues in the device when using ArtNet specifically.

Switching to sACN (which is not advertised, but works with the node), works much better. Not a single freeze has happened for me on sACN.

For the price it's okay. Apart from the ArtNet freezes, the device has worked fine.
