A deluxe guitar at an affordable price
The Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted WM is an instrument for guitarists who want the deluxe hardware package without the price tag that would usually come with it. It comes fitted with – to name just a few key components – a splittable humbucking pickup configuration, stainless steel frets, and locking machine heads. This all comes together in an ergonomically designed T-style body, which is constructed from nyatoh, a hardwood similar to mahogany. This model is painted in classic matt white, and its roasted neck and fingerboard are both made of flamed maple. The fingerboard's modern radius of 305mm (12") is reasonably flat, which is particularly good for playing string bends. In its combination of tasteful appearance, flexible usability, and a full complement of proven brand-name hardware and electronics, the Fusion-T is a guitar that will feel at home in any genre.
Adaptability and aesthetics
The Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted WM is a real eyecatcher: The nyatoh body is finished in opaque satin white, which provides an appealing contrast to the black hardware and pickups. The bolt-on roasted neck is made of Canadian flamed maple, as is the fingerboard, which is not an everyday sight – and with its modern C-profile and matte finish it's also easy to play faster runs. The rest of the Fusion-T's hardware setup includes 22 wear-resistant stainless steel frets, a Graph Tech nut, a Wilkinson 50IIK vintage tremolo, and WSC locking machine heads. The electronics consist of of two AINiCO-5 humbuckers from renowned manufacturer Roswell, which are governed by a three-way selector switch and a master control each for volume and tone (the latter equipped with a push/pull function to allow the pickups to be split).
One for the bargain hunters
For anyone looking for a generous helping of hardware and something nice to look at – but without wanting to spend too much money on it all – the Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted WM is just the thing. Budget-conscious guitarists will find all the features usually only offered in much higher price segments, such as locking machine heads and a Graph Tech nut for reliable tuning, and stainless steel frets so the sleek roasted maple neck won't suffer as much wear and tear when playing. The instrument generates a full-bodied humbucker sound, while still guaranteeing hours of playing comfort thanks to its ergonomic cutaways and its relatively light body. The splittable humbuckers also make the Fusion-T a real all-rounder, meaning it will serve well as an affordable backup instrument. Of course, it can compete with its far more expensive competitors as a primary guitar, where it will appeal equally to ambitious beginners and more experienced players.

A guitar made to be played live
The Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted WM has been designed to play live, making the hours on stage fly by with its easy handling and the neck's matte finish. And there's no need to worry about it holding its tuning thanks to the locking machine heads and high-quality nut, even if the tremolo is in constant use. Live guitarists will also enjoy the immense flexibility offered by the two splittable humbuckers, almost eliminating the need to change instruments on stage – at least, not because of their sound! This feature is another reason the Fusion-T makes a good backup, as it can effectively fill in for a number of main instruments. And these all-rounder qualities aren't just helpful on stage - they also give guitarists instant access to a diverse range of genres when recording.
In the spotlight
Roasting
Roasting is one of a range of heat treatment methods that can be applied to wood. This method, which is a relatively recent development, is used in order to give new or alternative woods the same tonal characteristics as older, matured tone woods (some of which are now protected by conservation laws and can thus no longer be sold). The wood is placed in a special computer-controlled oven and dried to a pre-determined degree – in other words, its natural drying phase is artificially shortened. This process also increases the wood’s resistance to warping while also changing its visual appearance by darkening its colour and making the pattern of the grain more distinct.
