If you have trouble with the guitar staying in tune, start by replacing the strings. The strings that came with the guitar I got were replaced within three weeks with a set of D'Addario EXL110 because of tuning issues. After that I tuned the guitar maybe twice a week instead of twice a playing session.
Other than the stock strings there's not much else to complain about. The frets started poking out of the fretboard a bit after a month in its new home's environment but that's just normal life of the wood and nothing a gentle filing won't solve. The string spacing is wider than what I've seen on other guitars of this style but the wider spacing made it easier for me to play as I have thicker fingers. The flipside is that both of the E strings are easier to slip off the fretboard as they're closer to the edges. This was an issue for me only a couple of months before my muscle memory updated itself.
The string action was set as low as it can on my example, which makes the guitar easy to play with very slight fret buzz on the first fret, but the intonation was way too sharp out of the box. Again, that's nothing a bit of patience with a tuner and a screwdriver won't solve.
I absolutely love the flexibility of the pickup setup. The lower gain single coil configurations between higher gain humbucker configurations offer an easy way to switch from a softer rhythm playing sound to crunchier tone for a solo. I've often found myself adjusting the tone more from the guitar's controls than meddling with the amp (or the amp sim).
The following observation may not be evident with all of the guitars manufactured due to tolerances of the electrical components and/or the input impedance of the device the guitar is plugged into: In the middle position with both humbuckers, the tone control turned all the way counter-clockwise, the pickups go resonant with the tone control capacitor which offers a nice fuzz effect to the sound when overdriven. In my case the guitar was plugged to a Line6 POD v2 to get this effect.
The iridescent colour of the guitar is dominantly dark green that turns to purple. My unit arrived with perfect finish. No dents, no scratches, absolutely nothing to complain about the finish.
Overall, for the price it's been perfect for the casual playing I bought it for, and now I actually play more than I used to with the previous almost playable "Stratocrapster". The hardtail bridge was an obvious choice for me after fighting with a constantly drifting cheap tremolo. However, before giving one of these to a beginner to learn to play with, have it checked and adjusted properly to make a happier learning experience.

La Harley Benton R446 est une guitare de qualité largement correcte :
Finition plutôt sympa, poids léger, les micros font le job (à brancher sur un ampli type Boss Katana, en terme de qualité), guitare facile à jouer.
Elle est superbe dans la couleur flip flop blue, qui est en fait un vert sombre et irisé.
C est une entrée de gamme, mais elle est impeccable et ne s adresse pas qu à des débutants. Pour se rendre compte du son, voir vidéo de Lukas Bierbrauer sur youtube.
Je recommande cette guitare et merci à Thomann, pour l envoi rapide et soigné

Ist diese Gitarre super! Natürlich nicht perfekt aber gut!
Vorweg das wichtigste: Der lack ist mehr grün als blau aber das ist kein Problem für mich. ABER-Das ist kein Lack für eine "ich lass die irgendwo rumfliegen " Gitarre. Es ist was besonderes aber empfindlicher als ein gewöhnlicher Lack. Also beachtet, wer die will, muss Sie auch gescheit behandeln.
Von Sound ist licht und Schatten da. Je nachdem was man Spielt.
Rock, Metal, Heavy kann man easy Spielen und da is es fast egal welchen Pickup man nimmt. Wenn es aber mehr Volumen und Umfang braucht dann ist meine Erfahrung - Beide Pickups nutzen und Volume Regler bei der Gitarre etwas runter drehen. Dann geht sehr gut sogar sowas wie Blues zu spielen. Ja das geht mit der!
Zu dem was ich dringend machen würde nach Erhalt der Gitarre: Einstellen von Saitenhöhe und ggf. Sattel etwas nachfeilen. Hat bei mir sehr viel bewirkt. Aber unterm Strich folgendes Fazit:
Sehr gute Gitarre für Leute die wissen was Sie wollen und die grundlegendes beim für sich einstellen der Gitarre können.
Der Lack ist halt ne Diva aber dafür scheint er auch so wunderbar.

Harley Benton war mir eine einschlägig bekannte Marke und mein Gitarrenbauer konnte nur positives über Thomanns Hausmarke berichten. Auch bei den Influencern findet man unglaublich viele positive Berichte über Harley Benton (z.B. über die Flying V oder die Explorer, siehe kanadischen YT-Kanal SpectralStudio). Was bekannt ist sind kleinere Macken (gleiches Beispiel: bei einer schwarzen Serie war der Stegbolzen auf Grund seiner Lackierung nicht erdend). So auch hier bei der R-446: Die hinteren Plastikführungen für die Seiten waren nicht alle fest; zwei sind mir beim Saitenwechsel entgegengekommen. Kann man wahrscheinlich mit etwas Kleber richten. Was richtig krass war, war die Trockenheit des Griffbrettes! Es war so eine extreme Rauheit, dass man ein richtiges Schaben bei Bendings hören (und auch fühlen) konnte. Das soll laut meinem Gitarrenbauer häufig bei HB vorkommen und hier lautet der Trick zur Abhilfe: Das Griffbrett ca. 10 Tage in Zitronenöl (Lemon Oil / Pflegeprodukt für Gitarren) einlegen. Das hat 1a geholfen! Ich will wirklich niemandem einen Schrecken einjagen aber das muss man unbedingt wissen, wenn man sich eine von diesen anschaffen will. Das sind auch wirklich die beiden einzigen, negativen Punkte, über die ich berichten kann. Die Bundstäbchen stechen NICHT scharf hervor, der Klang ist überraschend geil und die Optik ist der absolute Hammer! Ich wollte immer schon mal eine interferenzlackierte (Flip Flop) E-Gitarre. Insgesamt, und das für unter 200 Ocken - Alter, es ist wie mein Gitarrenlehrer immer sagt: "Heutzutage leben wir im Gitarren-Equip- Schlaraffenland" Lasst euch durch die Negativpunkte nicht abschrecken. Wenn für das Geld alles perfekt wäre - da würde was nicht stimmen. ;) Ich bin auch noch Wochen nach dem Kauf begeistert von dieser Klampfe. Die anderen Farben sind auch richtig nice. Schaut euch doch mal die Reviews bei YouTube an! :D

Harley Benton was a well-known brand to me and my luthier had nothing but positive things to say about Thomann's house brand. You can also find an incredible number of positive reports about Harley Benton among influencers (e.g. about the Flying V or the Explorer, see the Canadian YT channel SpectralStudio). What is known are minor flaws (same example: in a black series the bridge bolt was not grounded due to its paint). Same here with the R-446: The rear plastic guides for the sides were not all tight; two came towards me when I was changing the strings. You can probably fix it with some glue. What was really blatant was the dryness of the fingerboard! It was so extremely rough that you could hear (and feel) a real scraping during bends. According to my luthier, this happens often with HB and the trick to remedy this is to soak the fingerboard in lemon oil (lemon oil / care product for guitars) for about 10 days. That helped a lot! I really don't want to scare anyone, but you definitely need to know this if you want to buy one of these. Those are really the only two negative points I can report about. The frets do NOT stand out sharply, the sound is surprisingly great and the look is absolutely awesome! I've always wanted an interference lacquered (flip flop) electric guitar. Overall, and that for under 200 ocks - dude, it's like my guitar teacher always says: "Nowadays we live in the guitar equipment land of milk and honey." Don't let the negative points put you off. If everything was perfect for the money - there would be something wrong. ;) I'm still excited about this guitar weeks after I bought it. The other colors are really nice too.
