Wah Wah
Wah-wah, the filter effect you work with using a foot pedal
The wah-wah effect might sound complex, but technically, it's pretty straightforward. Inside a wah pedal, there's a bandpass filter that a potentiometer, linked to the rocking pedal, controls. Depending on how you move the pedal, it continuously amplifies a specific range of frequencies. Pulling the pedal back, known as the "heel position," boosts the low mids, giving you a somewhat muffled sound.
If you push the pedal all the way forward, called the "toe position," you get a super bright and brilliant tone.
