Very satisfied despite skepticism
Paul3364, 12.04.2015
I am YouTuber and bought me the microphone to have a good sound in videos. But I was surprised. The sound is very good and therefore, it is a bit more bass, everything sounds even more pleasant. But do not be frightened. It is not just bass, no ... It also has a good center and nice height and what convinces me that it is not so a quiet (ultrasound) at the recordings where, if one has sensitive ears has such an unpleasant beep.
Depending on the use, the noise is even completely gone. I have already spoken at 36 ° in the shade people from 6 meters away and it sounded still clear and comprehensible, and the Nebengeräusche have not noticeably disturbed despite the distance.

I take with the Zoom H4n and an XLR cable on and in Stamina mode one can also record very long (at least 5 hours). The handling is simple but I still had to exercise in the correct volume to take, since one sings a light rustling. But it does not really matter. And in a video is not noticeable, since the television loudspeaker itself just as loudly rushing;) with good headphones and loudspeakers you can hear it already more clearly but everything in the normal range.

The Death Cat is not particularly expensive, but until now it has failed only once in strong wind at sea. But it did not sound, much more the wind blowing into the microphone swallowed my words, but you could understand me.

I have times looked as the option with the battery is and I must say if one with an XLR -> jack on a mobile phone wants and a battery in the micro, then one can make with good sound.

For music the micro is also not GOOD very well but it can already keep up, especially since it does not take any smack of the mouth when opening, one has in the singing already a finished song without noise noise.

Conclusion:
+ Price performance is so good at this microphone that you really can not complain for the good sound.
+ It weighs nothing and the processing is really top.
+ You do not have to use 48 Volt to take up with the micro.
+ Noise is not heard depending on the application.
+ It still works at hot and cold temperatures.
+++ distance: I can hear from the 5th floor with the Zoom H4n to 100% volume the people on the street talking. Sure, since noise rustles it loud, but that it so far so precise works is really 3+ points worth: D

- No switch, so battery out if one uses one.
- Use only with a spider, you can hear all that is connected to the micro.

+/- The high pass filter did not show me any difference and I would not know what I need it, too

Clear purchase recommendation for amateur and amateur filmmakers! I would also use it as a professional to save 500EUR;)

Richtmikro by RODE
Sven V., 09.10.2009
· Assumed from Rode NTG2
I bought the RODE NTG-2 for outdoor shooting. Compressed air hammers, airplanes at the start, passing trucks, etc. All recordings have worked well and sound good, as I hoped. The whole is now used professionally in a software. Therefore, it was also important that the quality was right. I have used the RODE Micro with both a USB interface and a notebook, as well as with a cable adapter and the MP3 recorder (this is possible because the RODE NTG-2 can be operated both with battery and with 48V phantom power).

For outdoor shooting I recommend in any case still the RODE Blimp to buy. Thus, the almost always present wind noises are effectively prevented. For outdoor shooting the "Puschel" is now indispensable for me. Both together provide a top team for outdoor photography.

Cheapest Richtmikro, which one can recommend
beiti, 05.11.2011
· Assumed from Rode NTG2
I use the NTG-2 mainly for Videoton with Mikrostativ or Angel. Compared to a t.bone EM9600 it is better by lengths; The sound is more balanced and it rushes considerably less. The very high output level also allows low-noise recordings with consumer camcorders, whose microphone preamplifiers are often not the best. However, the NTG-2 is too large and heavy to be mounted sensibly on today's usual 400-gram camcorders; It will be used separately.

Significantly more expensive directional microphones like the NTG-3 sound above all in the heights even more finer, but with the NTG-2 it can already get along well. In this price class it is unrivaled.

Good microphone for camera
Matthias090, 11.12.2009
· Assumed from Rode NTG2
This microphone I ordered myself, since I have already worked with his predecessor (the NTG-1) long. Often you can see the NTG-2 with semiprofessional film and television productions and exactly this is also suitable: For use with Tonangel or directly at the camera.

The clear tone is immediately noticeable, which has been somewhat improved compared to the predecessor and has become more brilliant in the heights. In addition, it seems to me that it has a slightly stronger direction than its predecessor. The processing is solid and practical is also the switch for bass reduction.

If you are looking for a professional microphone and do not want to afford the more expensive versions of Sennheiser, you should have access here. You do not compromise with the NTG-2.
