Getting +25 dB Gain with RODE Procaster + Rodecaster Pro
Dr D, 15.11.2019
Before I had the TritonAudio Fethead connected to my Rode Procaster microphone, I had to set the pre-amp gain to + 35 dB on my Rodecaster Pro interface. Now with the Fethead between the mic and the audio interface, I have the gain set to just 10 dB. Overall the sound quality is virtually the same. I can barely hear the Noise Gate activation with the Fethead attached, however the EIN floor is -130 dBu with the Fethead, as opposed to the Rodecaster Pro EIN of -125 dBu. Therefore, I have slightly better SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) as the signal is stronger at lower pre-amp gain, plus the noise floor is lower, by around 5 decibels. The sound quality is extremely clean when recorded directly into my computer using Adobe Audition. So, I am very pleased with this product - it improves my input noise and means that I need very little audio interface gain to get a decent sound output.

Use with certain dynamic microphones in certain circumstances
Gilo 891, 29.06.2020
I bought the two Fethead Phantoms for use with a pair of condenser microphones that were of good quality but were under performing on output and required a boost. Having looked at the Triton Audio product range on their website I decided to buy a Fethead (for Dynamic microphones) as a prerequisite to buying a Shure SM7 which competent reviewers said needed a microphone preamp.
In the event the SM7 was not purchased, however I found myself in a situation where I decided at short notice to mike an acoustic guitar not with a condenser microphone as planned but using a Shure SM57.
Essentially I was recording a small group of singers, singing sea shanties, one of whom played the acoustic guitar and sang along at the same time.
The Triton Audio Fethead did precisely what it was meant to do and lifted the output level of the Shure SM57 to a level on a par with the condensers that covered the vocals. In the event the signal was a little ahead of the level required for a guitar to be heard in background and the level was cut back in post-production. I feel sure that cutting back is much more preferable than boosting and introducing any unwanted noise.
I am therefor very pleased with the Fethead and will continue to use it regularly in similar circumstances.

Simple and Effective
Swang, 19.09.2020
Dynamic microphones, could only get the level before with the pre-amp gain right up, making fine control difficult as it was sudden-death. But, with the FET-head in the line, got a good signal, and still lots of headroom on the pre-amp and fine control. No messing, no tweaking necessary. Requires phantom power. Excellent purchase

Love this, better than cloudlifter
MuddyNick, 21.08.2020
I looked at this vs the cloud lifter alternative, it has a very similar noise floor but it's soo small it's very very easy to run inline. A must have for mic's like the SM7b. gorgeous sound, easy to use and doesn't pass through phantom power so al my mics are protected =D
