Awesome quality for a very reasonable price but needs an amplifier
Ronfontu, 25.01.2021
I use this microphone for podcasting.
I first ordered two of these mics without any amplifier (Cloudlifter, Thomann FetAmp, TritonAudio FetHead, Klark Teknik Mic Booster CT1...) and while I got it working, I had to put the gain on my audio interface way too high. I did some more research and it turns out an amplifier (using phantom power) is all you need. Those (especially the cloudlifters) might be expensive but there are alternatives. Here is my reasoning and why I went for the Thomann FetAmp :

The Cloudlifter was a big no considering its price.
The TritonAudio FetAmp seemed to be a nice alternative while still not so cheap.
The KlarkTeknik CT1 was perfect but out of stock and I needed one asap.

I then went for the Thomann FetAmp which does the job perfectly.

The mic itself has an really great build quality! It sounds really good and an external pop filter is not really needed (I don't have one and the p's an b's don't stand out). It doesn't have many features, but it doesn't need to. The sound has a gread "broadcast" effect which may or may not be desired. I highly recommend this.

Has a Broadcast sound quality to it.
The Wildman, 04.04.2021
It works very well for voice-over work, especially when used through heavy compression.
Sounds great.
It has no switches or settings to alter.
It is heavy.
It has great build quality.
It has a great swivel mount.
It looks great on camera.
It is a Cardiod microphone.
Very nice mic sound quality to it, that is typical of a Cardiod type mic, which is what I was after.
Extremely low output though. I had to buy an inline Gain booster to before I could actually use it for any work.
I paired it up with an 'SE M1 Dynamite' gain booster, and it now has an acceptable level to work with.
As a point of comparison:
While I find a Shure KSM27 condenser mic is great for recording singing, and the Senheisser ME66 is perfect for recording vocal speech on video shoots, this Rode PocMic is better suited for recording vocal Voice Overs.
Highly recommended for this, but just make sure you also buy a 'Pre-pre-amp' (aka 'gain booster') to go with it.

A Great Economic Choice
HCJ , 10.03.2021
There's a lot of temptation to buy cheap when first starting a podcast or voice over project. This is, of course, quite understandable, but a lot of Youtubers will advise you that a good mic is in a 80-120EUR range. I'd say this is your guy; The price to quality range is rivalled only by the procaster, which is a bit more pricey, or the Neat Worker and King bees.

This, a Behringer Soundcard , and an XLR cable or two, are all you need to get going with podcasting, video voiceover, or anything else spoken word wise. Unlike the Procaster or Bees, it's less useful for music, but it's basically a great speech mic.

The mic is a heavy, tough build, with great sound, and excellent off axis rejection. I record in a big echoey kitchen, and find no noise leak, echo, or noise, after the most basic post processing.

Great podcast/announcer microphone
damondimento78, 08.08.2020
Built like a tank, reassuringly heavy. Needs a good sturdy mic stand.

Needs lots of gain, I use with an external recorder and a USB interface. I find it needs 90% or more of available gain for a close-miked voice.

What it's good for- podcast recording/narrative recording in a fixed location. I haven't used it "on the go", I have lighter dynamic mics which I would use if I was recording on location. You could travel with it, but it wouldn't be the best choice for that purpose.

You also will need a pop shield, although the mic has one built-in, it is not 100% effective.

You will also need to experiment with mic distance and angle of delivery for best results.

For the price it's unbeatable. Apart from the great sound it's very well built and gives reassurance of longevity.

Recommended (this is the second one I've bought).
